How Sweet Is The Word To You

The Giving Hand of our Lord is open wide, and for us to live as children who have only been given measured food, mean and meagre rations, will certainly and unequivocally cause us to be ill, faint, weak, sick and absolutely undernourished in faith, trust, hope and belief.

Our heavenly Father does not have malnourished children, because He is too generous a Giver of Spiritual treats. He has never been a miser of a Father to us, even when we have been tight-fisted, mean and miserly in our love for Him. When He gave us the Gift of His Son, He gave us Himself, our God contracted to a span, incomprehensibly made man. When He received His Risen Son back to heaven, He again gave us His most precious Gift, Himself, in the Holy Spirit. He is the Paraclete, the Helper, who is all truth. His expressed and determined desire is to make human beings His abiding place, His temple, on earth.

God, from time immemorial, has always only given us, not just His best, but all of His best. Believer in God, when He gave us His Son, He gave us all His Love, for God is Love, and His Love is sweet. In perfectly like manner, when He gave us His Holy Spirit, He gave us all His Truth, for God is Truth and His Truth is sweet. What can we say? All we can confess and profess is that our Father never ever wants us to be feeding from Him in any mean and meagre way. Nothing of His treasures come to us with stipulations and regulations, which show Him as a mean and meagre Giver.

Let’s explore this in more detail, as we are given full, unlimited access and privilege to listen to our risen, victorious Lord, as He feeds two of His disciples with treasures beyond measure. Again, this is all that we know and carry with us. Here is the Bible verse from which riches are openly, freely and generously pouring forth, minus all meanness and meagerness.

And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself. Luke 24: 27.

Jesus is speaking to a couple of His disciples who are in a right state of spiritual nothingness. I say this because at the moment, they are looking and living very dry, pathetically marasmic, and totally lean lives, in the things of God. They are not worthy testimonies of Jesus, their Shepherd, Lord and Leader. They are witnessing to their Master as dead, so they too are dead. They have no idea that Jesus, their Spiritual Shepherd, Leader and Father, lives and precisely because He lives, they ought to live also. They ought to be living robust, healthy, strong and joyful lives in the Spirit, nothing that even resembles, what is mean and meagre. Alas! It is not so!

Disciple of our Risen Lord, born again child of the Spirit, is this you at the moment? Are you feeding on mean and meagre portions of your loving, caring Lord’s unharnessed, uncensored and unbounded sweet, Living Word? Then I invite you to look to Jesus, your Father and Lord, as these two, dead-in-the spirit disciples did, and receive riches, in no mean and meagre portions, as they did.
