Our Knowing Captain

Today, we continue with the third identified, infallible fact upon which our faith can securely roost.
We shall not full direction need,
Nor miss our providential way;
I had stated that we would join these two statements, as they were interlocked with each other. However, our attention was placed on two phrases, which showed themselves in each line. Having been afforded an inspiring and energizing time on the first phrase, full direction, we now turn to the other phrase, providential way.
Often, when we hear the word providence, it sparks all kinds of debates, speculations and sometimes heavy, religious disputes. You and I know that many religious leaders differ on their interpretations of God’s providence, against freewill and choice. I am no scholar and the truth is that I have not been called to any such debates. However, what my simple faith allows me to believe and live, is this.
God has sent us His dear beloved Son, Jesus Christ, in whom He is well pleased. He said that we should hear Him. What have I heard from Jesus? I have heard how much He loves me, love that deigned to give His innocent, precious Life to save a wretch like me. I have heard that He rose from the grave, victorious, and is seated in heaven, at the right Hand of the Father where, as my High Priest, He makes daily intercession for me. I have heard that He had to return to the Father in heaven, so that He could send down another Comforter, the Spirit of Truth. I have heard that if I give my life to Jesus, if I remain in Him and He remains in me, I will know abundant, full everlasting life in Him. I have also heard that if I do not believe in Him as my Saviour and surrender my all to Him, I will certainly perish.
I humbly ask you this personal question. Is all this and more, not the same for you also? O yes! Beyond the shadow of a doubt. Yes! It is all for you. Now, receive this in its simplicity of faith.
With Captain Holy Spirit, we will not miss the way of God's providence for us. All I am saying is that even though we do not know all about providence, even though we do not understand all about providence, and in spite of the fact that we do not have full direction on the way of providence, our faith allows us to live, the fullness of God’s providence. We trust our Captain and we are able, in His vessel, to live worry-free, stress-free, anxious-free and doubt-free lives, knowing that we are in the Father’s providence. You are in God’s providence and cannot escape it and no one can remove you from it.
Here are well-known and often-quoted words of Jesus, which plaster us fully with this truth. Listen and let faith remove every iota of hesitancy, skepticism and uncertainty that will try to put you in darkness and hold in doubt. Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. Matthew 10: 29 – 31. Is this not also God’s providence for you? It will happen, because the Lord has spoken it and what He says is to be, will be. It has no choice but to be. God’s providence depends on absolutely nothing and no one but God Himself. We cannot therefore, miss our providential way.
Here again, we look at the cruise liner sailing into port. The passengers did not know all the mind of the captain in terms of the ways or paths he chose to take his vessel and them, his passengers. They had no say in which waters he should choose to take his ship. There was no discussion or conferences at any time, regarding the way to be taken, the constant or staggered speeds to be employed, neither how near or far, from places along the way should they sail. It was the captain’s mind and his alone.
Okay, this being the case, and it is the case, what do you spy with me, as the liner comes sailing into port, with full crew and passengers? The captain’s way has proven true! The captain’s general will for his vessel was materialized. The captain brought every single person on board, without discrimination or condescension, safely to port.
The same is true of our Captain Holy Spirit. With Him as our perfect Guide, it is absolutely impossible for any of us to miss our Lord’s providence. We can rest assured that not even our own erring, will nullify His providence.

Why are you holding works as evidence?
Don’t you know it’s about God’s providence?
