Lucrative Ground

By faith and in faith, we have come now, with all our spiritual tools - sharpened obedience, restored trust, fired-up hope and un-waning humility, as we explore the lucrative ground of Psalm 37. Many and different truths are to be extracted from this ground, therefore we shall place them in bundles, or piles for easier reach, identification and receiving.
At the end of each pile, we shall take a moment of silence where, as we are convicted and convinced, we each will offer individual prayerful responses to God, for what is before us. We shall diligently seek the help of our Holy Spirit, to grant us difference in: -
Our thoughts - that we may think aright and not be fooling ourselves in any way.
Our words - that we may guard what we speak, when we speak and to whom we speak.
Our actions – that we do not do anything on our own accord, but consciously make every plea to our Lord to help us desist from any good works that are to our benefit, but not to the honour and glory of God.
Here are the labels or titles for the four piles, into which Psalm 37 has been sorted. Words of Admonition, Words of Acquisition, Words of Acclamation and Words of Adoration. Additionally, as unsightly as it may be for some, I have deliberately numbered each, for easy access and referencing.
Words of Admonition – In this pile, have been placed words of advice, encouragement, warning and wisdom. These are precious words which show David’s deep care and concern for the people of God, to help them, and by extension all of us, to live better and more fruitful lives, in the midst of this world’s evils.
1. Do not fret because of those who are evil.
2. Do not be envious of the workers of iniquity.
3. Trust in the Lord and do good.
4. Live where you are, but feed on God’s faithfulness.
5. Find daily delight in the Lord.
6. Commit your way to the Lord.
7. Trust also in the Lord.
8. Rest in the Lord and wait patiently on Him.
9. Don’t fret about those who prosper in the way.
10. Don’t fret because of anyone who brings wicked schemes to pass.
11. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath.
12. Do not fret, it only causes harm.
13. Know that the little the righteous has is better than the riches of many wicked.
14. Be ever merciful, and lend if you are one who is righteous.
15. Depart from evil, do good, and live forevermore with the Lord.
16. Be just, for the Lord loves justice.
17. Know that the mouth of the righteous one speaks wisdom.
18. Be mindful that the tongue of the righteous one talks of justice.
19. Know that the law of the righteous one’s God is in his heart, therefore none of his steps shall slip.
20. Wait on the Lord.
21. Keep the way of the Lord.
Is there anything in this find, that is not suited to your situation? Is there any one thing, or perhaps two things which you must pull out and set aside, because it is not practical for you at the moment, so you must remove it from the pile?
When I read this, I stuttered and stumbled over a few of them well. For example, I had issues with 5, 8 and 12. Nevertheless, honesty would not allow me to simply skip over, or fly over them.
What about you?
Let’s know fruit-confessing silence before the Lord. Amen!
