God's Miraculous Works

Mindful that we are in the last days of the final week in the month of November 2025, and the final Lord’s Day Sunday therein, before we begin Advent, many different emotions sweep through us. There are emotions of heightened jubilation, as you hear people speaking of the fast approaching Advent or Christmas Season, with pure excitement and child-like expectation.

Others are not at all happy with the rapidly closing in Christmas Season, which, to many, marks the end of the year, especially as it comes pregnant with unmistakable reminders, in all directions, about this fact. Still, there are others, and not a few, mind you, who are not unduly moved, swayed or persuaded by the apparent speedy haste of the approaching Advent Season and the end of another year.

However, regardless of your disposition and emotions, and despite all that may or may not be going on around you, on this Lord’s Day Sunday, I ask you to just spend a few moments giving conscious attention to what I am about to say to you.

• You are alive today, because of our Heavenly Father’s grace and mercy. Do you agree?

• You are in your right mind, able to read this, because our Lord and Sovereign God has kept your mind safe and sound in Him. Is this not true?

• You are not starving to death for want of food, or lack of water, because God, the Holy Spirit has provided your daily bread. Are you the picture of starvation?

• You are not wallowing in sin and guilt, separated from your Heavenly Father, with no hope of salvation.  Are you the image of the unredeemed? 

What is the purpose of all of this? What am I saying to you, me and everyone who will read and share this offering with me? It is that in the midst of all that you are experiencing and thinking, the reality is that you have a Heavenly Father who has not abandoned you. You have a Creator who has made you, His human creation, to be different from all the other works of His hands.  I’m inviting you and all who will come with me, to bring all our emotions, thoughts, weaknesses and strengths to a more in-depth walk into our Lord’s riches, bestowed upon us, His human creation.

It’s like walking into a garden of goodness. You have been shown around the outskirts, the periphery and this has so intrigued and moved you, you simply want to go deeper into the luscious, mesmerizing and unbelievable beauty that awaits you. This is our mission during this week.

Having heard all about what Creator God has endowed us with, all He has given to us in making us to have dominion over His creation, we must go much deeper into this domain. This is absolutely imperative, for without being exposed to much more, many of us will remain cheated and totally void of understanding, vision and wisdom in the Works of God.

I confess that I for one, though I believe that God has given us all dominion in the earth, my thoughts would lead me to think that it was only for some and not for others. I thought of those with great faith, the strong, the important, the leaders and suchlike. But O how wrong I was.

Does your thinking follow such a trend? Then this week, as we delve much deeper into God’s marvellous and unfathomable power and authority, we will all see, think and seek to live differently.  

Holy Saviour, we give unending praise and thanks for Your marvellous riches to us. Thank You for redeeming us at such a high cost. We owe all that we have and are to You, gracious Lord and ask You to receive the grateful thanks of our lives. Amen!
