Do not be afraid…You have done all this evil; yet do not turn away from the Lord, but serve the Lord with all your heart.1 Samuel 12: 20.

These are the words of Samuel to God’s penitent children. In a reality check, they’ve been given a rude awakening about their status before God. Little do they know that in asking for a king, they have bitterly offended the Lord. Only now, as the results of this grave error have been made known to them, do they seek God’s pardon. Samuel hears their pain and sees their genuine desire to be forgiven and saved from the punishment they deserve. God works on the heart and mind of His servant Samuel, so that his heart is filled and inflamed with God’s grace for these children. It is with this heart of charity and zeal that Samuel offers the sorry children of God, the abounding grace of the Lord.

Here are personal questions which we all need to hear from time to time.

Is the Lord your God pleased with you?

Has it been brought to you that Father God is not at all pleased with something for which you are asking?

Have you been made aware of your displeasing actions in the sight of your Heavenly Father?

Are you in a state of penitence?

Are you honestly and truly sorry for your offensive actions before the Lord?

Will you now by faith receive the Lord’s grace, as He gives it freely to His children, including you?

Receive the Grace of Pardon: Don’t be afraid of the Lord being as an angry, unforgiving Father. No! Nothing more touches the heart of God than His penitent child. As long as you have accepted that you’ve done what is displeasing in the Lord’s eyes and seek His forgiveness, He offers you His pardon.

Receive the Lord’s Pardon.

Receive the Grace of Peace: The Lord, who has given you His pardon, is fully aware of all the evil you have done. But note the peace that comes with your pardon. The Lord tells you that you are to stick with Him and not turn away. There is unmerited peace in Love which, knowing my error, still wants me to be with Him. If God is Peace then surely peace is His to give. He offers you pardon and peace.

Receive the Lord’s Peace.

Receive The Grace of Position: You are never just left there to be useless and idle. God, who knows the human mind, commissions and challenges His children to serve Him with all their heart. You have received the Father’s pardon and peace, but that is not all. He includes you and welcomes you to be one of His servants, who tells others of His love and grace.

Receive the Lord’s Position.

Don’t be afraid, my brothers and sisters, though you have been found wanting in the sight of God. He knows and sees your deep sorrow, for all that you have intentionally and unintentionally done, which have displeased Him. He knows and offers you Pardon, Peace and Position, through His merciful grace.

Receive His grace.
