Even as with faith, we proceed with more and advanced viewing of Jesus, in Psalm 37, we are ever so mindful of the fact that as the people of Christ Jesus, His Church, we must always listen to Him. With this resolve, we continue.

If purview means one’s scope of knowledge, one’s experience and competence, then Jesus exceeds all by far. Jesus, He who came and dwelt among us, is most fitted to speak to us, for He was fully human. All that we will be hearing from Jesus, all His advice, admonition, warning, urging and wisdom, fall in His purview. Everything Jesus warns and speaks about, is personal to Him. When He warns His disciples against the yeast of the Pharisees, for example, He knows first-hand how utterly poisonous and harmful their teachings are. Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees which is hypocrisy. Luke 12: 1b. These are not foreigners, mind you. They are His brethren, His Rabbis, His elders, the religious people with whom He worships Sabbath after Sabbath.
When He tells His followers not to store up treasure on earth, but store up treasure in heaven, He took His own advice. Jesus lived knowing that where His treasure was, His heart was also. Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your heart is, there your treasure will be also. Matthew 6: 19 – 21
Not one item, not one experience, not one admonition is outside of His purview. Jesus is speaking, not from learning, not from study, not from revelations, or even from His Omniscience, but like David, Jesus is speaking from His own living, earthly experiences. In other words, whatever He speaks to us and tells us, is His personal testimony, which none can refute. He was tempted like any ordinary human being, so He knew the distresses of sinful, human flesh. He knew hatred from His own Jewish people that was vile and voracious. He was called all kinds of vulgar and slanderous names by His own, who were even teaching and telling people that He was of the devil.

Jesus is Lord and King. He is Shepherd, Leader and Master, Head of His Church. In His unfailing love and care for His people, Jesus gives view and preview to us of this life and the one to come. Listen and heed, as He speaks frankly, passionately, freely and strongly about life among His own, the New Israel. Jesus is not just speaking of what used to be, what obtained in the past, nor is He only speaking of what may be experienced in the future. No! Jesus is also speaking of the present, for as He speaks, He is still experiencing some of what He’s warning against. Here’s an example. When Jesus was having conversation with Nicodemus, one of the condemnations of His own people of which He spoke, was about Himself, the Light of the world. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. John 3: 19.
Has not Jesus experienced this to His heart’s sorrow when He, the Light of the world, goes home to His own hometown? He enters the synagogue and brings the True Light of knowledge to them, but they take offence at Him and choose to remain in the darkness of ignorance. They question His wisdom, His words, His works and His ways, and would have none of it. The Scripture tells us, they were offended at Him. Mark 6: 3b.

Review
Review is being used in the same understanding, as we are not desirous of missing this precious moment to do some deep introspection, as led by the Holy Spirit. Won’t you agree with me that this is an opportune time for you and for me, the Body of believers, Christ’s Church, to know, in this present moment, exactly where we stand with our Heavenly Father? Do you honestly know the Spirit’s, review of your life? Why not? Listen to what Jesus has said about you and me, His Church, regarding bearing fruit, His fruit, no one else’s. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. John 15: 5.
If we are in Jesus, then this sound testimony and solid proof of fact, must be seen, not just in our bearing fruit, but our bearing of much fruit. Is that not the heritage of the righteous? Then Jesus goes on to declare, with no hesitation, no grey areas, and with absolutely no room for any misinterpreting or misunderstanding, these crystal clear words. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. John 15: 6. Is that not the calamity of the wicked? In light of what Jesus has spoken and continues to speak, are we sure of our Spiritual standing?
Let’s take a long, deep, spiritual breath here, to ensure that we have safely and healthily digested all that we have been fed. Without the shadow of a doubt, the food is sweet to all who are willing to feed, but if there is not proper digestion, calamity will be the sad outcome. We need continued help with our spiritual digestion, ensuring that we are not choked by any good. Of dire concern also, is that we do not want to sift what we have been hearing, throwing away some and keeping those things which satisfy our own human desires, tastes and fancies. No! May Holy Spirit help us to acquiesce to His ways, and His desires, as we get right into the ground of Psalm 37.
