Blood Stained Picture

As promised, we need to attend to two things. Stated on yesterday’s offering, was the fact that we are the New Israel and Jesus is our Door. The question is this. If Jesus is our Door, does He have a lintel and two side posts framing Him? Remember, the frames of the doors were marked with the blood of the sacrificed lamb.  Let’s reason together here. We agree that Jesus is our Door, but do you agree that He is framed, if you like, by what He says of Himself? Has He not said and shown that He is, the Way, the Truth and the Life? Let’s now listen, with receiving, humbled minds, all submitted to the Lord.

We return to what was previously stated, that the blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are.  By faith, we can truly own that the Blood is a sign of: -

Deliverance – Saving from God’s destruction. Is not Jesus, the Way of God?

Assurance – Receiving the promise of salvation. Is not Jesus, the Truth of God?

Presence – Knowing the Word with us and in us. Is not Jesus, the Life of God?

Jesus is our Door, who frames our dwelling in Him, with these Blood-marked facts. God’s judgment passes over all who are in Christ.

The other thing to which we must attend, is the second Blood-picture. This picture shows the people inside an Israelite house, whose door is blood-marked. Inside are not only Hebrews. How can this be? Will it not jeopardize the salvation of the Israelites? Not in the least! Note Moses’ words, as he reminds the people of what God has promised.

When the LORD goes through the land to strike down the Egyptians, he will see the blood on the top and sides of the doorframe and will pass over that doorway, and he will not permit the destroyer to enter your houses and strike you down. Exodus 12: 23. God never spoke about passing over people, in what He spoke to Moses and the Israelites. He spoke of passing over the blood-marked doorways.

Does this not show, in clear, unsullied light, the freeing grace of salvation, available to all who will believe and enter the blood-marked house?

Jesus is our House. He is our place of living or abiding. We all ought to be confident in this and speak as Paul speaks. I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2: 20.

 Jesus is our Life.

Jesus is the Church. After showering a blessing upon Simon, Son of Jonah, Jesus spoke these most explosive words. And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. Matthew 16: 18.

Jesus is our Way.

Jesus is the House of God. On one of His last visits to the Temple in Jerusalem, a day or so before His crucifixion, Jesus rid the temple of many who were desecrating it. He did not just quote Scripture, but He spoke with the authority given to Him by Father God, as He and the Father are One. Loudly, He said this. My house will be called a house of prayer, but you are making it a den of robbers. Matthew 21: 13b.

Jesus is our Truth.

Whoever believes in Jesus, enters into Him and remains in Him and He in them. Abiding in Him means that all will know the Lord’s promised, abundant living. Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. John 15: 4.

O precious shed blood of Jesus,

Your work on the cross is complete,

Please train us daily You to praise,

Teach us, O Holy Paraclete.

Amen!
