God And Humans Together

We have come with expectations, fully assured that God, the Holy Spirit, has played and continues to play a vital role in our salvation. We look at the Spirit’s, pivotal and operational roles in the birth of Jesus, where He, the Spirit, worked together with Mary. Truly indeed! Before us is the working of flesh and Spirit, to produce God’s will. In the birth of Jesus, we see how the angel of the Lord explains it all to Mary.

So what is this divine mystery, hidden from our eyes?  There are three images of understanding which radically transform our minds, totally quicken our understanding and completely unshackle us to believe and receive by faith.

This is what is being done to flesh, Mary, who is totally human. This is being done to her by the Holy Spirit. God is Spirit, totally the One Holy Spirit. How can this be, when flesh and Spirit cannot agree? We know this to be factual, for Paul speaks about the flesh, or sinful human nature. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. Galatians 5: 17 ESV. Paul’s strong and life-saving advice is to live by the Spirit. Only in complete obedience to Him, can the Spirit work wonderfully and miraculously with the flesh. The flesh, the human person, must become like clay in the hands of the potter, who is the Holy Spirit. It is with this understanding that we receive these three steps, in the miracle of God and Human.

The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. Luke 1: 35b.

Overcome – The Holy Spirit will come upon you 

The Holy Spirit comes upon flesh. In other words it overcomes you in the flesh. It is because of Him that you, human flesh, surrender to His desires. The desire of God was to use Mary, a human person, one in the flesh body, to bring forth His Son, Jesus, who will save His people from their sins.  

Overshadow – The power of the Most High will overshadow you.

The Holy Spirit, who is the Most High God, will totally cover this human being with His glory, majesty, might and power, so that nothing of the human self, absolutely nothing of the human will, is seen. The human nature, human flesh, is all dead, covered under the shadow of He who is the Most High.

Overpower – So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.

The Holy Spirit is He who is Omnipotent. He is the All-powerful. Whatever He wishes to do, in whatever way He chooses and through whichever means He desires, will be done, according to Him. He has chosen to go above and beyond even the laws of nature, against the natural, as it were. He chose to empower a human being, who herself is confused and stupefied. How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? Luke 1: 34b. KJV. Has not the Spirit overpowered even the laws of nature, and brought forth His desire, birth to His Son?

We are being shown the same unreplicable, miracle-working power of Spirit and flesh, evidenced in the salvation of humankind, in Jesus, Son of Man. Jesus, who is totally human, submitted His earthly, human life to Father God, to save sinners. Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners – of whom I am the worst. 1 Timothy 1: 15

In obedience to His Father, Jesus shed His Precious Blood. He did the Blood Work, which His Father desired. Jesus died and was buried, and the Holy Spirit raised Him from the dead.

We hold this deep within, as we wait for more enlightening, edifying and quickening truth.
