Who's Following The Word Of God

Here is a statement, though it sounds most sweeping, it is absolutely true in its intention and attention. The statement of enduring fact is this. People of all intentions follow the Word of God. Many, even in our day, still seek after the Word of God for two reasons and two reasons only. The Word of God is sought for good reasons and for bad reasons. It is sought to give and ensure its life and it is sought to give and ensure its death.
The main, stabilizing Scripture verse used to introduce us to this fact is Acts 17: 13. But when the Jews from Thessalonica learned that the word of God was preached by Paul at Berea, they came there also and stirred up the crowds. We gather some most interesting herbs from this garden of healing, helping information.
Recently, I have been watching, with mesmerized and totally interested eyes, heart and mind, at how people in far off mountainous lands live. The beauty of the place, regardless of the season, is breathtaking to me. I am given to see the inimitable handiwork of Creator God, which never fails to draw me to Him in wonder, love and excited praise. One of the things that always holds me fast, is to see how those who live there, simply walk into the thick, lush, mountainous fields and freely pick things. They freely pick what looks like pure bush to me, plants of varying sizes, colours, shapes and textures, plants which they use for consumption. Whether for eating raw, boiling for teas, cooking in stews or in making all kinds of breads, these plants or herbs, are all God given.
Each time I see the gentleman in the video picking those leaves, breaking off heads of grasses and suchlike, I am made always aware of the abounding blessings of Creator God. I make audible acknowledgement, noting, with exuberance and holy pride that not one of those plants was human-cultivated. God and Creator God alone has not just given them those edible life-helping and life-healing herbs, but He also maintains and keeps them potent.
This is how I offer you the Scripture passage. Will you accept it as a garden, a place where spiritually healing and helping herbs can be freely picked and used in all the ways you need? This is all new and exciting for me and I trust that you will find it the same way for you also.
One of the freeing and most beautiful thoughts to be encouraged, nurtured and acted upon is this. In that same place I spoke about, one person could pick rose petals for example, to brew his morning tea, while another can pick the same petals to crush or grind into the making of her bread. The point is that we have the freedom to use what we are given to suit our individual needs.
May we all be conscious of what we are given by our Lord and may each word we receive, be used to our specific needs.
