On this first day of a brand new week, it is not just a privilege to have another week, it is not just a privilege to be alive, but it’s an even more rejoicing privilege that we can be filled again, with the freshness and newness of this new day. As we spend this moment in time, or any other time, today, with the Giver of all life, on this new Lord’s Day Sunday, let us breathe. May we be encouraged to gently, consciously and most gratefully draw into our spiritual lungs, the very sweet, energizing and invigorating Breath of God, in His forever new Word.

Many of us have this daily experience in some form or fashion. During the night hours, most of us sleep with windows and doors tightly shut. When the early morning comes and we are awake before the rising sun even, it is impossible to open your door, or window, for that matter, and not feel the sweet freshness, crispness and pureness of the early morning air, flooding into your house. Instinctively, you close your eyes, breathing in all the freshness of the early morn, with light heart and unburdened spirit. Your quiet, grateful heart and mind give unsung praise and thanks to Almighty God, Creator of the clean, fresh morning air, as you freely draw it all in.

Will you agree that this is exactly what God’s Living and Active Word does for us every morning, when we rise and seek Him first? When, only because of our Lord’s bidding, we rise from the night of sleep, of being unconscious, lost in sleep, and seek God first, aren’t we opening our hearts and minds to Him?  O yes! Indeed, we are opening our entire being to God. Just as we open our door or window, on a new fresh, un-dawned God-given morning and receive freshness, from the new day, so too, we receive nothing but the new, fresh, stimulating and quickening wind of the Holy Spirit, allowing the Spirit to bring us into God-pleasing responses.

Our Lord is never ever powerless, fruitless, nor careless about His works and ways in us. His providence for us never ever fails, or goes awry. His paths for us are never ever paths to bring us damnation and defeat. His power never goes out, never blacks out and never ever is subject to the power of the evil one.

In this moment, whatever and wherever your moment is, as you have joined me in this freeing, refreshing moment, in the presence of God, the Holy Spirit, be free. Be free in heart, mind, body and spirit to just bask, unashamedly and guiltlessly, in the sweet Breath of God. Lounge, lay upon our Lord’s comforting and loving bosom, as John did, and be made refreshed and energized to live all that our Heavenly Father plans for you, to His honour and distinct glory.

This week, we are setting ourselves to receive great and thrilling freshness and newness from the unsearchable richness of the infallible Word of God. The immutable Word which, even if heaven and earth shall pass away, will stand forever firm, strong and true, is faith-strengthening, trust-building and hope-stimulating. We shall be taken to old sites, familiar names and known places, made unbelievably new to all spiritually dimming sight and unregenerate spiritual hearing.

Our Father in heaven, just for the joy of Your unchanging, faithful Word, we are excited. For the hope of Your unwavering promise, for this week, we are enlivened and for the assurance of Your ever enlightening and leading Presence, we humbly cling to You. Thank You Father. Amen!

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. Romans 15: 13 KJV
