It's Advent

It’s Advent! It’s Advent! God Has His Son sent!

For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given, and the government will be upon His shoulder, and His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9: 6.

We are here, each one of us, with lights in our hearts as Advent people, to worship and adore the Christ Child, before whose Light we bow low in wonder, love and praise.

It’s Advent! It’s Advent! Our Saviour’s born,

Good news! Good news to you on this new morn, 

The Saviour has come here in lowly birth,

Jesus, Immanuel, has come to earth. 

It’s Advent! It’s Advent! Jesus has come,

To be born in all hearts, not just in some,

Peace on earth and goodwill is what He brings,

Rejoice! He comes with healing in His wings. 

It’s Advent! It’s Advent! Peace on the earth,

A time of rejoicing, a time of mirth,

But many are sad and many do mourn,

The darkness of this world has them forlorn.

 It’s Advent! It’s Advent! For all there’s hope, 

Good news has come to all who just can’t cope,

Messiah has come in our human clay,

May He be born anew in you today. 

You’re Advent! You’re Advent! His Advent tree,

He gives you His Light so that all can see,

Jesus Christ in the world, in you and me,

Bearing His Gospel, setting people all free.

Amen!

 

And she will bring forth a son and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins. Matthew 1: 21
