Then the angel said to them, Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be to all people.  Luke 2: 10

This is the single verse out of fifty-two others in the chapter, which has been brought before us as a seven-branched candelabra, holding brightly burning lights of the attributes of who our Unseen God and Heavenly Father is to us. The first and tallest branch of the seven-branched candelabra, spoke of the Trinity of Fact. From there we viewed the second, which was the Testimony of Fact. Today we look at the Truth of Fact – Then the angel said to them.

The third light of the seven-branched candelabra-like Bible text, burns with a light of truth that has been dimmed in many a believer in God, due to faith issues. There is sick faith, feeble faith, bruised faith, broken faith and many more grievous issues related to faith. In several degrees, disbelief and unbelief are very prevalent, causing many to forfeit the blessings of God.

May our faith be stirred to follow and accept that heavenly angels are still around us as God’s servants, here on earth, doing His perfect will among His imperfect people.

When the showing of this third light, it is imperative that we have faith and, we do believe in angels being with us. Faith must allow us to believe, because to doubt or disbelieve, is not just to nullify one way in which Almighty God conducts His affairs upon the earth, but it does even more. To disbelieve in God’s angels, is to block us from receiving specific and unique riches from God, which are freely given to us through His heavenly messengers.

The word, then, gives us indication that something occurred before what is currently before us. Taking just one step backward, we immediately note that the angel did something first. He came to where the shepherds were and stood in front of them. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them. Luke 2: 9a. Here’s a truth of fact, free to all, who will receive it in faith. God still has angels, heavenly and earthly people, to come to where His elect are, to stand before them. If God has selected you to receive His Good News, you do not have to go for it, as He will bring it to you. You do not even have to ask for it. He brings His truth to you, right where you are. Just as the shepherds never asked for an angel from heaven to visit them and stand before them in full view, so too you do not have to ask God for messengers to visit you. He sends them and by faith, this truth must be accepted and believed.

Here’s added truth of this fact. Paul, one single human messenger of God, with Jesus’ feet, was able to walk into Athens, with all its vicarious gods, and preach the Gospel message fearlessly to all people. His spirit was provoked within him when he saw that the city was given over to idols. Therefore he reasoned in the synagogues with the Jews and with the Gentile worshippers, and in the market place daily with those who happened to be there. Acts 17: 16b – 17. The Bible reliably informs us that Paul was taken to Athens to save his life from his blood-thirsty haters, who were on an unrelenting mission to kill him. Have you ever thought about this? The Athenians, like the shepherds, never asked for God’s Good News of Great Joy to be brought to them. God had His elect right there in that openly pagan city and He chose to bring His earthly messenger to them, without them asking, desiring or even praying for such. Paul, against all his plans, went and did the Lord’s bidding, with God-given produce. We read that both men and women were converted to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, a miraculous feat indeed.

Wherever you have been forced to go, even though it is not in your itinerary and plans for 2026, go. Go! The Lord will make you an outstanding witness for Him.

May God’s Truth of Fact in your life, be most evident, showing His Will and Way in your life of faith and obedience.
