Resurrection Fallacy Continues

On this final day of an eye-opening week, a week that has forced many of us to pay greater attention to Resurrection lies, we listen to what this lie has done. Returning to the text we note what must be taken seriously.
When the chief priests had met with the elders and devised a plan, they gave the soldiers a large sum of money, telling them, You are to say, His disciples came during the night and stole him away while we were asleep. If this report gets to the governor, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble. So the soldiers took the money and did as they were instructed. And this story has been widely circulated among the Jews to this very day. Matthew 28: 12 – 15
Our concern, on this last day of our receiving, is with the last sentence of the given text. And this story has been widely circulated among the Jews to this very day. What story are we listening to? It is the story told by the soldiers about the Resurrection of Jesus. The story is that His disciples came during the night and stole him away while we were asleep. This is the story concerning Jesus’ Resurrection, which was told over two thousand years ago, and which is still widely believed today among the Jews. In plain understanding, the story is being reported, by those who should know, since they were guarding the Body of Jesus, at the time and know what transpired on the third day of Him being in the tomb. All that they are reporting is that Jesus did not rise from the dead.
Curiously though, what are they acknowledging and giving testimony to about Jesus? There are three historic facts, which are neatly, but firmly embedded in their gross lie. By reporting that Jesus’ disciples came during the night and stole His Body, strengthens the believer’s faith in Jesus, as actually being a real Person, a totally human Man, who lived on earth and had followers. Here are just three things which have jumped straight out before us. Yes, in their gross lie, they have given us convincing proof of these three facts: -
Jesus was a real human Person. He was not just a fake human Being.
Jesus was crucified. He did die. His death was no fallacy.
Jesus was buried. His Body was placed in a tomb. This was no false burial.
If nothing else, this is historical proof that our Jesus was a real Person, who lived and died.
Now they are telling the whole world that the Man called Jesus, is still dead, buried somewhere by His disciples, who stole His dead Body from the tomb. In short, they are proclaiming that Jesus Christ, the Nazarene who died and was buried, never did rise from the dead. This is the story which has been given world-wide circulation by the Jews, even unto today. And this story has been widely circulated among the Jews to this very day. The question is this. Are we, whether Jews or Gentiles, influenced in any way by this lie, this continuing Resurrection fallacy? To answer this we look at what Jesus, being risen from the dead, means to the world of believers.
What advantages are there for us with His Resurrection which were not there before He died? What has Jesus given to His disciples now, after His rising, which was not given, before His dying? This is what we note with clarity and proof. Before His death, the disciples knew Jesus dwelling with them, in Human form. Now, after His Resurrection, they know Jesus dwelling with them in Spirit form. Put another way, we can say this. They knew Jesus’ Dwelling, before death and His Indwelling, after resurrection.
Just with these brief short facts, we are made to examine ourselves and know whether we also are perpetuating fake news, lies and fallacies about Jesus’ Resurrection. We all need to understand that regardless of what our lips and lives testify, Resurrection is a fact. The Resurrection of the Man Jesus means that He did die; that He was buried; that He spent three days in hell; that He rose again on the third day; that He ascended, back into heaven from where He came; and that He has returned in Spirit, to be with all who believe.
The pertinent question before us is this. Do I know Dwelling with Jesus, or an Indwelling with Him? All who know His Indwelling, show and publicize with lip and life the Risen Lord. It means, like Paul, we no longer live, but the Risen Christ lives and rules and reigns in us. We are no longer under our self-rule, but Spirit-rule. We no longer fear humans, but we fear God. We no longer seek the things of this world, but we ardently seek the things of heaven.
Sin is no longer our master, the Holy Spirit is.
Darkness is no longer our groping way. Light is our free and bold way.
Self-pity and self-piety no longer satisfy us, we are now satisfied with Holy Spirit living.
Weakness is no longer our holding pattern. Spirit strength takes over.
May each life be a beacon of Resurrection Light and Glory, a bastion of Resurrection Life and Power, and a beneficiary of Spirit and Truth. Amen!
