Overwhelming Truth

What a privilege to see this final day of February, in this Leap Year of 2024. We need to pause and think of all those babies who have come into the world today and all those, perhaps you also, who came into this world, years ago, on a twenty-ninth day of February. The truth is that their birth date or earth date will only come every four years, but here is overwhelming truth for them. They were born and nobody can refute that fact. The Fruit of Overwhelming Truth is that they are alive, living, moving and having their beings before us. None can even begin to find fault or error with such truth. Whether they chose to celebrate themselves – fruit born to a man and woman some time ago - on the 28th February or even the 1st March, does not in any way nullify the fact that they are the offspring, the fruit born to parents.

Will you see God’s Truth as Fruit which He has already made available to us in this one verse of Scripture which He Himself has brought to us? I know and I understand fully, what is definitely happening to some of you at the moment, for the same thing happened to me. Looking at the verse, it seems totally bland, insipid, senseless and missing something. However, our Lord and Teacher, in His unfathomable and undeniable manner, has given it to us and we are fully surrendered in heart, mind, soul and spirit, to receive as He feeds.

Nevertheless, before we hasten on, we need to understand fully that all we were told previously about the fruit, pertains to what we are not picking, but receiving in this most laden, fully satisfying and substantially nourishing Word. May I hasten to add that many are perhaps like me, very conscious and upfront with the Living Word of God as, Light.

We are versed with such Scripture verses as these.

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Psalm 119: 105.

The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple. Psalm 119: 130.

However, we are less upfront and forthright with God’s Living Word being our food. Are we versed with such Scripture verses as these?

When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart’s delight, for I bear your name LORD God Almighty. Jeremiah 15: 16

For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them. Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your ancestors ate manna and died, but whoever feeds on this bread will live forever. He said this while teaching in the synagogue in Capernaum. John 6: 55 – 59.

It is good and noteworthy to know that when many of Jesus’ disciples were offered this Fruit of Truth, they could not eat it as given, in its natural, true and unaltered state. They heard, yes! It was offered to them, but many who followed, disciples that is, not outsiders or non–disciples, but they who were faithfully following Jesus, openly, turned back and no longer followed him. John 6: 66b. You see, they could not fix and fit God’s Food, His Words, His Fruit of Truth, if you dare, to suit their natural tastes and inclination. They said, This is a hard teaching. Who can accept it? John 6: 60b.

May this present Word, this Divine food be acceptable to us, that we may not forfeit it at all, due to our ignorance, arrogance, defiance or forbearance. May we hear, heed and feed, no matter how hard, impossible, impractical and utterly repulsive it may first hit us, for we know that the Word of God is to our good. He will make it sweet to our renewed, surrendered, born again state.

Here is the verse of Scripture that was given to us earlier.

That is why to this day neither the priests of Dagon nor any others who enter Dagon’s temple at Ashdod step on the threshold. 1 Samuel 5: 5

We believe and accept that the Fruit of Truth, falling from this verse does not need:-

To be put in a bag or cupboard for it to mature and ripen, for you to feed on it. To do so will be to show stubborn ignorance.
To be peeled or stripped and have additives sprinkled on it to be tasty to your liking. To do so will be to show dumb insolence and foolish arrogance.
To be cooked or have any kind of natural heat or fire put to it. To do so will be to show self-righteous, and self-conceited defiance.
To be cajoled, banged or beaten about to receive its meat. To do so will be to show deceptive forbearance.

Will you join me as we confess truth to our Heavenly Father? We come before Him acknowledging that God the Holy Spirit is with us and in Him we will know and show Fruit Of Overwhelming Truth in our walk and talk.
