Kingship In Trinity

Today, we are being led to see, and come to the reality of what many believers may find difficult to accept. It is that some have been surreptitiously guided away from the whole truth and made to focus only or mainly on Jesus as King. I bring this offering under strict, Holy Spirit, exposing, enlightening and convicting truth.

Here is my personal testimony. I strongly believe that it is not common to me alone. Additionally, my glorious hope is that for those who have been blinded and oblivious of any such one-sided thinking, will hear, see, receive and know Kingship in Trinity. I am not ashamed to expose my ignorance to you, as Teacher Holy Spirit exposed it to me, using words which have come from Samuel. Who is Samuel? He was a prophet of God and the last of Israel’s judges. He was the faithful servant of God who was sent to anoint the first ever king of Israel. He is the one of whom it was said, The LORD was with him and let none of his words fall to the ground. 1 Samuel 3: 19b.

It was during one of my early morning school times with our Lord that I was sent to 1 Samuel 12: 12. And when you saw that Nahash king of the Amorites came against you, you said to me, No, but a king shall reign over us, when the LORD your God was your king. Believe you me, I only saw these words, God was your king, and I exclaimed. God is a King! Somehow or other, I was walking around in my mind and living with difference between God the Father and God the Son, in relation to who is my King. How truly ignorant and deceived, I was. Here was I, making Sovereign difference and separating the Trinity. Even the Roman soldiers, unbelievers, who had just crucified Jesus, were given some kind of reverence for Jesus’ seamless garment and refused to tear it up, or rip it into pieces. Sadly and most erroneously, in my thoughts and living, daily I was ignorantly ripping up, dividing and separating the Seamless Holy Trinity, when I thought of who was my King.

To some, this may seem like a non-issue, but O how it held me fast and firm. How could I deny its truth in me? All I know is that He who is the Spirit of Truth was gracious and indulgent enough to show me the error of my ways.

Let me hasten to explain that all the songs we sing about Jesus as King, all about His Majesty and Sovereignty are absolutely and perfectly correct in honouring Jesus, our King. What I am saying is that Teacher Holy Spirit, who has come to lead us into all truth, has shown me truth in my ways of functioning. In my confused, abused and being seduced mind, by the all-clever deceiver, I was not seeing what he was building up in me. He was plying me with camouflages of true worship, honour and praise in one area, which had me not seeing that Immanuel is King. Immanuel is none other than God with us, in Jesus. Is not God, Spirit? Is not Jesus, Spirit? Is there not One God and One Spirit? One Trinity!

First, let’s establish that the pronoun, you, in the text, refers to the nation and people of Israel, who are the children of God. The kingdom and nation of Israel belong to God. Although everything belongs to God, in His unmatched wisdom and unfathomable ways, He chose the nation of Israel as His chosen people. For you are a holy people to the LORD your God; the LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth. Deuteronomy 7: 6. We know it is Israel and no other nation, through many Bible references. Albeit, I have chosen to bring this simple, well-known verse, which is laden with convincing proof. When Moses addresses the nation of Israel about their God, he speaks these words to them. Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one! Deuteronomy 6: 4. Simple, straightforward and to the precise point, isn’t it?  The God of Israel is Jehovah and the people of Jehovah are Israel.

Where do we stand today? Who are we in the whole scheme of things? I know that as we continue, this week will prove to be a life saver and life preserver for those who are as I was. It speaks specifically to those who, without even knowing it, keep professing and testifying to Jesus as King, as apart from the Holy Trinity. It is for those who insist that there is separation between God the Father and God the Son, in terms of Sovereign Power and Authority.

May God the Holy Spirit grant us pure transparency and bring us to our Triune King in the profession of our lips and our lives. Amen!
