Virgin Faith

We begin this offering without excuse of ignorance, pertaining to virgin faith or unassisted faith in God. Yes, I refer to it as virgin faith, for it is faith that has not been touched or tampered with by human works or efforts. The covenant promises we share with Abraham, only come because we are His descendants, or children, not of his physical seed, but by his spiritual seed. Spiritual seed, referring to his faith seed, that of his virgin, unassisted faith, his simple, child-like faith, with which he believed in God and believed God.

With unhindered assurance and boldness, I bring you this truth, as it has been played before my eyes, ears and heart. It comes from the part of the text that is most familiar and frequently spoken by all, from the highest to the lowest. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. Ephesians 2: 8 – 9.

Will you now listen to the same text but in relation to your covenant promise through Abraham? For by grace you have been given covenant with Abraham, through faith. It has absolutely nothing of yourself in it. This gift of covenant is the gift of God. It is not of any good, impressive works of yours, lest you should even be tempted to boast in the smallest of ways. WOW!

Our God is indeed a jealous God and will not share His Holy word with His unholy creatures. Faith is what pleases God, virgin faith, so that when we respond to faith, as the Spirit leads and not the other way around, then our works will originate from faith and they will certainly please God. Our covenant through Abraham is a covenant of grace as is every other covenant which God makes with us, sinful creatures.

  • Because of God’s Grace, no human injections, we receive God’s rich mercies.

  • Because of God’s Grace, no human inspiration, we receive God’s mighty redemption.

  • Because of God’s Grace, no human imputation, we receive God’s full salvation.

  • Because of God’s Grace, no human injections, we receive God’s complete resurrection in Christ Jesus.

  • Because of God’s Grace, no human invitation, we receive God’s everlasting covenant promise of exceeding riches of His grace, in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

O for grace and grace alone! Without faith, virgin faith, we will make God’s grace, incapable, insufficient, impotent and utterly ineffective, to grant all that God has promised. Note! Even scarier and most alarming is that without such faith in God’s Omnipotent grace, we will deny His effectiveness in keeping us in His covenant of grace.

Believer in God’s grace, do not live in the deceived fallacy that you cannot be tempted to turn away and forfeit God's everlasting grace to you. Daily, this and similar grace-mantras slide off our lips with precision automaticity. "By the grace of God, I am alive! By God’s grace I made it here. Thank God for His grace that brought me through! If it were not for the grace of God I would never have this job." And we can go on and on about God’s grace. Yes, each profession is true. However, we become all blinded, deafened, hardened and totally deceived when it comes to our living by grace through faith in God.

Without even being aware of it, we are encouraged and persuaded by the devil and his disciples, to keep talking of the Gift of grace, while we rush to the works of law. Law and grace are totally opposed to each other, for no one is saved through the works of law, but through the gift of grace. You, I and all believers must have faith in the efficacy of God’s Almighty, Powerful and Unalterable, Sovereign Grace. More important and critically life-keeping for all of us who believe, is that we persevere in our belief come what may.

Regardless of who or what comes, and regardless of when or when, we are to always know that we are people saved by grace through faith in God and never ever be persuaded to  move from that fact that we are forever and always saved by grace. Can this tragedy happen to you? Can it happen to me? Can it happen to God’s Church?

We shall find out tomorrow.
