The Soldiers' Sight

We are following as Teacher Holy Spirit leads, believing and knowing beyond any doubt that it will all open up into the light of revelation glory.
To begin the offering, let me remind you of something that was previously stated. I quote. “The Son of God, who came to earth clad in human clay, was literally crucified by soldiers. It is a historic fact, not a faith fact. Jesus was crucified by the soldiers of that day whose job it was to crucify people, just as in later days, there were men whose job it was to hang people.”
We are looking specifically at the four soldiers who were on duty that day to crucify, not just Jesus, but the two others who were nailed to crosses at the same time as He was. We know that they crucified those two others, because they went around breaking legs to make sure that the crucified men were indeed dead.
That was not unusual or uncommon work given to soldiers who crucified people. In this instance, the Jewish hierarchy asked Pilate to have the legs of all three crucified people, broken. They wanted it done because it was the Preparation Day of the Passover and the Jews wanted the bodies taken away. Then the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first and of the other who was crucified with Him. But when they came to Jesus and saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs. John 19: 32 – 33.
Where are we? We are together in believing that the four soldiers were real and actual, if we believe that Jesus was real and that He did indeed die. These four soldiers worked together that day, crucifying three people, and breaking the legs of two. They did their job and did it well. But who were these soldiers? Were they Jewish soldiers or Roman soldiers?
At the onset, we are told this. Then Judas, having received a detachment of troops, and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, came there with lanterns, torches and weapons. John 18: 3. A bit further in the chapter, we are given this information. Then the detachment of troops and the captain and the officers of the Jews arrested Jesus and bound Him. John 18: 12. They were the Jewish soldiers or guards who took Jesus to Pilate. However, when Pilate became involved, his soldiers took charge for they were the ones who scourged Jesus at Pilate’s orders and crucified Him. Pilate is not a Jew and his soldiers are Roman soldiers. Where are we here? At a point of extreme earthly interest. I say earthly interest, for it is from these four Roman soldiers that we are fed these unprecedented facts.
Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took His garments and made four parts, to each soldier a part, and also the tunic. Now the tunic was without seam, woven from the top in one piece. They said therefore among themselves, Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be, that the Scripture might be fulfilled which says: They divided My garments among them, and for My clothing they cast lots. Therefore the soldiers did these things. John 19: 23 – 24.
Believe it or not, we have been brought to the clear and glorious light of The Trinity - Father, Son and Holy Ghost – as only the Spirit of Truth can reveal this truth. What is this truth? It is that of the Oneness of the Singular God we serve. Who can gainsay the Holy Spirit? Who can defy, deny, defame and decry His eminent Presence with us? Who can stand in His revealed Glory and not be humbled?
