Welcome to the final week in a dying month, the final Lord’s Day Sunday in that month and the final first Day of the week in this month which is quickly going down. Having been made pressingly aware of all these finals, of that which is going down or ending, it can seem and sound most sad and morbid. Rejoice, with the inner peace, joy and hope of the Lord, for it does not have to be morose and unbearably sad. Indeed, the going down moments or final moments of this month, do not have to be devastatingly sad for us.  Share these life-encouraging and uplifting facts with us.

Where we live, we all have the privilege and daily miracle of seeing the setting sun. After many, many years, there is not a day when I see the going down of the sun that I do not marvel at the wonder of our Sovereign, Creator God. There is not a going down of the sun, which does not catapult me and many others, I am sure, into quiet marvel, awe, wonder and exclusively divine praise to Almighty God. Who can be given to see such wonders of our indefatigable Creator, and not be silenced? Who can stand gazing at such a mind-boggling marvel, and not offer oneself completely, to the Invisible Creator?

There is none like You, Creator God, there is none like You! Amen!

May I share some helpful views, which grab me each time the sun sets? This is being likened to this final week, the going down week of another fading month, in our living.

The sun is fading, there’s no denying of this truth, yet it never changes its name. When the sun rose in the east, and we shall refer to the sun as he, sometimes or it, at other times, he came up being called, the sun. Now that he is going down in the west, he is still being called the sun. Why? One reason and one reason only is given. It is because he is the same, in coming and in going, in rising and in setting, in beginning and in ending. This reminds us of Jesus, God the Son, who is the same in rising and in setting, in coming and in going and in beginning and in ending. The Son of God remains the same!

The sun shines light for all to see, for he is not partial with his light. His light shines on the just and the unjust, the believer and the non-believer, the deserving and the non-deserving. He never stops being the sun so that he never stops shining. All who have seen sunsets and still do see sunsets, know that when the sun is going down, it is still shining.

Indeed! The month is going down, the week is fading, each day is a day that draws us closer and closer to the going down of the month of August, but we must remember the sun, as it goes down and remains the sun. Regardless of what we say or think, the sun never has a change of name, it remains the sun.

During this final week of this going down month, we shall be looking at the Name of the Son, and the victory there is for all, in His Name.

WELCOME!
