Looking Around Wheat And Tares

Jesus goes down to the lakeside and sits there, as He looks around at all the people who are following Him, coming from north, south, east and west. Before long, a huge crowd has gathered. Jesus begins to speak to them on many different topics, taking them to many different places, as He is doing with us this week.
He takes them and all of us, His now crowd, to view wheat and tares, through a parable. Though it may be very familiar, this parable about the Kingdom of God, today we are here to receive all the blessings available to us, with Spirit-enabled sight, enlightened minds and energized hearing. We follow closely as we receive from Matthew 13: 24 – 30 KJV. There are a few words from the Bible Reading, which are coming to us from all different directions.
From the north comes Seed. In his field, the sower sowed seed. The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field. Mathew 13: 24b. This is good, reproducible, adequate seed for the field. The Word God plants in us is always good.
From the south comes Satan. In his field, the enemy, comes in hours of sleep and also sows seed. But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. Matthew 13: 26. Satan is the enemy and his works are devious and destructive. It was seed he planted and then left. But when the wheat sprouted and began to show heads, the tares became visible. We have been given facts which we only can take in, in the attitude and mind of faith. As with the wheat, so with the tares. After the seed is buried, we don’t see anything for a while. Both wheat and tares are hidden from visible sight. We don’t know the tares are there, because we did not see the enemy plant them. We know the wheat is there, for we saw the Word planted. Both wheat and tares will eventually burst out of the ground. Here is a mind-scaring, heart-stopping fact. The tares never show up first. Check it.
From the east come Servants – In his field, he had servants, who were the first ones to observe the intruders. Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? From whence then hath it tares? Matthew 13: 27. What trustworthy and honest servants! Their words to the master speak volumes. They are confessing knowledge, showing that they know he sowed only good seed. They are admitting trust, believing that their master will never have dealings with bad seed, much more to plant them in his field, or anywhere, for that matter. They are demonstrating stubborn belief, so upholding their master’s truthfulness, they are asking him where those weeds came from.
From the west comes Shrewdness – In his response to his servants’ question, he informs them that an enemy has done that evil work. The servants are ready to get rid of the tares forthwith. But listen to the shrewdness of the owner. This is what he tells his willing, concerned servants. No; lest while you gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. Matthew 13: 29. Leave those tares right where they are, to grow and become harvestable. Let them feed on my good food, as my wheat are feeding. Let them grow.
From the centre comes Separating - In his field, there will be a time of harvest, a final harvest for all. There’s no doubt about that, because he has planted good seed. In his field there will be an order for two gatherings, not to be done simultaneously, but consecutively. The first gathering is with the tares or weeds. Listen to these instructions given for the tares. Bundle them up. Bind them up. Burn them up. Let both grow together until the harvest; and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn. Matthew 13: 30. Then the owner gives a, but, when it comes to the wheat. But gather the wheat into my barns. Believe it or not! The wheat will also be gathered. They will also be bundled up and bound up, but note, they will not be placed in the owner’s fire to be burned. They will be placed in the owner’s barns.
Look around! See the Lord! Receive His promise. Wheat and tares will be gathered. Wheat to be barned and weeds or tares to be burnt.
