Jesus' Name

As we conclude the first week in December 2023, we leave with a greater appreciation, respect and understanding of the Name of Jesus, for us in this period of time.

We culminate our time together, with a given response in the form of a poem, where individually and collectively, we lift the name of Jesus higher.

Name of Jesus, higher than the highest,

A shining Light, brighter than the brightest,

Surpassing the wisdom of the wisest,

Name of Jesus, we sing it the loudest.

 

Name of Jesus, sweeter than the sweetest,

Much holier than human holiest,

Whose Word is much sharper than the sharpest,

Name of Jesus, we praise it the dearest.

 

Name of Jesus, the best, the mightiest,

Power beyond our dreams, e’en our wildest,

Life-giving Name, raising up the lowest,

Name of Jesus, we honour, the greatest.

 

Name of Jesus, beauty, the loveliest,

Sweet Rose of Sharon, the best, the rarest,

In Name and Nature, the very purest,

Name of Jesus, we adore, the most blest. 

 

Name of Jesus, exalted, divinest,

God incarnate, true Love to its fullest,

Offered to us in splendour, the richest, 

Name of Jesus, we publish, the kindest.
