Jesus Became

What are we delving deeper and deeper into the heart of wisdom to find? What are we descending further and further into the well of incalculable, irresistible truth to bring up? We hear the words which tell us that Judas became a traitor and that makes us afraid, helpless uncomfortable and utterly weak, for we too see ourselves as not far removed from this statement. We have also been made to scan those other examples, of people who, became.
In other words, we believe that we too have been called by Jesus, for we are His disciples. We also know that we have been chosen by Jesus, as His servants, to a specifically named work, or service. Not only that, but we have accepted the new name which He has conferred upon us, the new blest name of Love. Faith allows me to know this as factual in my life. How is it with you?
Like many, I have personally responded to all our Lord has given to me also. I know that I am a sinner saved by His grace. I know that He has washed me, cleansed me, and made me to do His special bidding. Now I see that in this walk, this new living, that I can become a traitor. How is it with you?
Yes, that is very true, but is that what this delving and digging is about? Is it about traitors? No! It definitely is not! This is about becoming. After being called, chosen and conferred with a new name, Judas became something. This is for you personally, to know that after Jesus’ fervent, all-through-the night praying to God, He called you, chose you and conferred on you a new name, so that all will see exactly what you became for Jesus. Remember, you became, meaning you were not that before.
Continuing in personal walk, personally delving deeper and deeper with the Holy Spirit, we enter again the examples already mentioned. We will come to each separately, as indicated, and will receive, as we dig even deeper. Trust the Holy Spirit. Have no doubts, queries or any kind of discomforts of mind or heart about Him. He is our Lord’s given Comforter to you. You may not be able to bear and process everything just now, as you may like, but be comforted. Jesus knows this and He has already made adequate provision for you, so that even your frail, present mind will not be your hindrance to receiving. Jesus knows, I tell you, just as He knew it with His disciples and also made perfect provision for them. Listen to the understanding, comforting, encouraging and assuring voice of your Jesus, as recorded in John 16: 12 - 13. I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.
As you move along or are taken along, trust not your understanding, your weak or even non-existent understanding. Simply trust God the Holy Spirit. It is in this confidence that we begin our delving deeper in the five Scripture verses, already brought before us, all bearing the word, the living word, became.
First, we look with greater attentiveness, acceptance and admission of this very well-known, well-quoted and well-used Bible verse, which deals with an absolute and fundamental truth about Jesus, the Living Word.
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1: 14. When we behold Jesus, we behold the Father. The Word is God and God is the Word. Jesus is God and God is Jesus, the Word that became flesh and lived among us. Just before His Crucifixion, Jesus prayed to Father God as He, lifted up His eyes to heaven and said, Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son may glorify You. John 17: 1. After fervent prayer for Himself and His disciples, He prayed for all believers, all who would believe in Him, through the Word, spoken by His disciples. He prayed that you and I, all may be one, as You, Father, are one in Me, and I in You; that they may also be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. John 17: 21.
What we are coming up with, after this deep dive, cannot leave us with our same, old manner and mentality.
Hidden in all that wealth is perfect treasure for you in Jesus. Remember and contemplate as you are being propelled by the present Holy Spirit. Jesus became one with God, in this sense, because He is God. However, you, me and all who believe that He is God, come to us in human form, will be made to become like Him.
Tomorrow, we’ll pursue our delving in this same Bible text.
