Jesus Is With You

Human nature tends to reason things on this level. If things are going good for us, we say that God is pleased with us. On the contrary, when things are really not going well at all, when we seem to be the ones with all the misfortunes and bitterness in our lives, we are prone to believe and reason out that God is angry with us.

The very sad and worrisome question, which plagues numerous believers is this. Is God still with me? Have you ever asked that question? I have and have done so several times.

In this meditation, may all who feel that God is not with them; all who are even afraid to articulate the fact that they feel as though Jesus is no longer with them; and those who seem to think that He has taken His Holy Spirit from them, find help. May you find sweet release, comforting peace and restful ease, as you receive these words of our Lord.

He Comforts – The friends of Jesus are going through a rough time of sadness, where they are not understanding all that He is saying to them. Their grief is real and they are not at all settled in heart and mind. Jesus knows this and He comforts them with promise. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. John 14: 18 KJV. The Lord is your comfort also, for He will not leave you.

He Delivers – It is a fact that troubles and hard times do come upon believers, but the Lord hears them when they cry to Him. Hear what David says, he who knew a broken heart and was deeply crushed in spirit. The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.  The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34: 17 – 18 NIV. The Lord is your deliverer as well. He will not leave you.

He gives Rest – These are very well-known words which most or all believers in Jesus can quote without error. However, to live these words is quite another matter. Listen to them again and let them saturate your very being. Jesus is addressing a specific set of people. He is speaking only to those who are heavily burdened, those who are laboring with everything and in everything and only becoming more frustrated and weary, as the days go by.  Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavily laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matthew 11: 28 – 30 KJV. The Lord is your sure rest. He is still there, willing to help you.

 JESUS IS STILL WITH YOU

Though the road is rocky and the mountain so steep,

That your faith is not strong enough your feet to keep,

Believe this word I give specifically for you,

Jesus is still with you to escort you straight through.

Though the times can depress and disappointments cling,

That your trust appears to have taken flight and wing,

Accept this word I especially to you offer,

Jesus is still your Master and Deliverer.

Though the pain and suffering hold you in their grip,

That in moments of weakness, in fear’s arms you slip,

Take this word I feed into the depths of your soul,

Jesus is still the One to make you new and whole.

Though your life seems all cursed and a failure of sin,

That you think evil on you has taken a win,

Know this word I speak to you, is God’s word profound,

Jesus is still Lord, He loses none He has found.

                                                     Amen!

It is the LORD who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed. Deuteronomy 31: 8 ESV
