Reliable Word Of Power

Thus far, we have been discussing with keen minds and hearts, the familiar experience with Joshua, facing a formidable allied force. We have been kept aware of the fact that our specific and unique purpose for these offerings, is to have us become more aware of the reliability of our Heavenly Father. It is given to bring us all back to deep, unwavering faith and trust in Father God as His children. We have been solemnly and strongly reminded of the reality of our Heavenly Father’s Word of Promise, Peace and Providence.

As we very much still need the Spirit’s help, we pray.

Holy Spirit, please intervene in our confused, stressed, unbelieving and unhealthy minds, giving us grace and healing to accept these life-giving Words about Father God. Help us and heal us from the mischief of the evil one, who keeps us talking faith, yet living in the power of fear. Snatch us from lips that speak trust in God, but live lives that evidence unbelief in God’s promises, peace and providence. May this be the hour, the moment, the time of dying to the darkness of evil and living in the truth of God’s Holy Light, no longer prisoners of the evil one’s mischiefs.  Amen!

With increasing confidence and more hopeful hearts, we continue with the fourth of our Heavenly Father’s precious and powerful Words.  

The Word of Power - I will hand all of them over to Israel, slain.                   

Can’t we just surrender all of our efforts, mental, physical, emotional and otherwise and stand strong and be bold in His undefeatable power? I honestly believe that when we come face to face with intimidating powers, and impossibility is written all over our puny, dwarf-like selves, we forget completely who our Heavenly Father is. He is Omnipotent. He spoke and darkness disappeared. He appeared and demons feared. He commanded and hurricane-type winds ceased. He called out a dead man from his grave and the dead walked out. He cursed a healthy, flourishing fig tree and it dried up. Are you remembering who our Father is? His power is from everlasting to everlasting and none can resist His Almighty power.

Many things jump straight out at me from these words, I will hand all of them over to Israel, slain. However, I shall share three of them with you. The very first word, I, lets us know that God is proudly wanting to do this fighting Himself. In this situation, He is not sending a single sole on His behalf. He is taking this one for Himself. In this present battle which you face, God is taking it on as His. I will fight this one for you.

God does not just subdue the enemy and chase them away, No! He subdues them – takes out all their power, sting and boast - then hands them all over to you. Did you get that? God takes away the allied army from Joshua and His people and returns them defeated and conquered.

I share this one also. I look, as the little word, all, sparkles with a brilliance that is indescribably mesmerizing. Can your mind get around this?  That entire mighty army of soldiers, even as the sand that is upon the sea shore in multitude, with horses and chariots very many, has become as one man, taken down by God. Not one section of that augmented army, not even the most experienced and decorated men of arms, can stand against God.  

What does this do for you? One thing it did for me, was to make me question myself, whether I truly know who my Heavenly Father is. If I know this Almighty Power in Him to be real, then the enemy I face at present does not have the might of force to defeat Him.

Believe! Your Father is not just fighting for you, but He will hand your enemy over to you, defeated and harmless to take you down.

Father in Heaven, forgive me for thinking, acting and speaking as though Your Power is subject to other powers, human or spiritual. You are God, Omnipotent, and I am Your fragile child, easily given to wandering. Fear is never far from me and I am unable to help myself. You have communicated with me. You have spoken Your Word of promise, peace, providence and power to me, in this most anxious and fearsome time. Help me to understand that the more I agonize, stress and worry, the more I am making myself deaf to You. Amen!

Holy Spirit, throw my mind, my thoughts and my heart back to who our Heavenly Father is, please. Remind me over and over again that our Father wants His children to know Him in might and power. Teach me how to be at peace in this hour of deep trial and testing. Thank You Father, that Your reliable love and power, go way beyond my hesitation and trepidation. Amen!
