Caution! Be Aware!

We pause, just for a bit, to be made abundantly aware of facts and truths, pertaining to the wiles of the devil, which can easily escape and elude us. Brought before us once more, is an itemized list of reasons why Paul is admonishing us and encouraging us to wear the whole armour of God, at all times. He has been very clear that we are not fighting against flesh and blood, but against: -
Principalities
Powers
Pharisaism
Perversion
He has made it quite clear also that it is imperative, crucial even, a matter of spiritual life or death, for every believer, who must wrestle with diabolically demonic enemies. Put on the whole armour of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Ephesians 6: 11. It is the only way we, who are the Church, we, who are believers in Jesus, will be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Ephesians 6: 10b.
Here is our caution, our warning, our learning. When this was revealed to me, I was truly and honestly lifted out of myself. I was made to leave, discard and abandon all that I was holding as wisdom on this very subject. Be not deceived in any way about this. Indeed! We are not wrestling against flesh and blood, however, and most truly so, this is the reality. Principalities, Powers, Pharisaism, and Perversion all come to us through flesh and blood.
We remember these famous words of Jesus, in Matthew 16: 23b, to His beloved Peter, the Rock of Revelation on whom His Church will be built. Peter has just heard Jesus telling of His Crucifixion and immediately, Peter calls Jesus aside and rebukes Him for speaking in such a manner. Straightway, without letting Peter’s words have a chance to find rest on Him, Jesus casts out every evil thought and word from within Peter. Get thee behind me Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
Jesus is looking at flesh and blood – Peter, but He is speaking to Satan – principalities, powers, pharisaism and perversion. Can’t you see it all clearly here? Isn’t it indeed scary, I mean, terribly frightening? Had not Jesus been fully and properly clothed with the complete armour of Father God, Satan would have scored one on Him, through Peter. Jesus wrestled with Satan here, in this incident also, and conquered, standing firm and strong, only through the full armour of God. Hey! No demonic attacks will come to you and me, followers and believers in Jesus, in obvious ways. We cannot begin to wrestle with forces of diabolical works, because we have not got the insight, sight or sense to recognize them. We must be fully clad in God’s armour.
Here are solid, unwavering and unmovable facts that should make every single believer who is not sure of being fully armed in God’s armour, who is partially armed, or who does not feel the need at the moment to be so dressed, to take warning! When Jesus told Peter that he savoured not the things of God, meaning that his mind was not filled and fuelled by, or with the things of God, He also spoke these words. He told him that his mind was taken up with those things that are of men. The word, men, refers to people, human beings and what is carnal. These are not idle, vain words which state; The mind of sinful man is death. Romans 8: 6a. The sinful mind is hostile to God. Romans 8: 7a.
We wrestle not against human beings, but we wrestle against: -
Principalities; working and controlling the lives of human beings.
Powers; owning and empowering the lives of human beings.
Rulers of the darkness of this world; manipulating and ruling the lives of human beings.
Spiritual wickedness in high places; being carried out by human beings.
We conclude this offering, fully mindful that we are wrestling with those evil enemies, sabotaging and controlling the minds of humans to do their evil works. The word of victory and triumph for us however, is that this does not have to happen to us, as long as we are wearing and using the full, protective armour of God.
