God's Creation And More

Welcome! Welcome to our time today on this precious and privileged Lord’s Day Sunday. Indeed, we are truly mindful of the God we worship, love and adore. Who is like our God? Who is a faithful and loving God as our God? We worship God as Creator.  

That God is Creator, runs through the entire Scriptures from Genesis to Revelation, as is revealed in whichever translation we hold before us. In the first book, the Book of Genesis, God is presented to us as Creator. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1: 1. We also know and believe that God created all life.

Lifted high before us, in the Book of Revelations is God as Creator of all things. You are worthy O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power, for You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created. Revelation 4: 11.  The God whom we worship, is Lord. He is Sovereign. He is Ruler and Monarch, the Most High. 

We, who believe in God as Creator, also believe that He created us human beings. Let’s listen to familiar Scripture, that which you and I know well and enjoy quoting. However, my prayer is that as we listen to these verses of Scripture, each one of us will look at herself or himself, seeing, understanding and knowing truth. Truth, in that each illuminated word spoken in our hearing and each image drawn in visions of light, will show us exactly who we are in the sight of God and man.

Then God said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.  So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth. Genesis 1: 26 – 28.

Have you heard many grand things about you? Have you seen many privileges which God has given to you, His creation?  You and I are shown once again, in this Creation narrative that we are not just God’s creation, but we are much more than His creation.

This week, we shall be taken through some illuminating, explosive and most surprising facts about ourselves, which the deceiver has strategically, and craftily been blocking us from living out in our lives. Hey! This is going to be a week of big changes, what I am calling a Changeover Week.

First changeover that must take place, is the changeover in who rules our words, ways and works. There must be a conscious, deliberate and seen changeover from, the person of deceiver ruling in us, to the sure, undeniable truth of the Person of the Holy Spirit ruling in us.

Here is the first explosive, eliminating and surprising fact held up to each of us.

You have been made by Creator God in His image, not the image of the deceiver. You have been made in the likeness of God, not in the likeness of the devil.

Ponder! Look at yourself to determine if you need a Changeover in your thinking and showing.

Then God said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness;

May the Holy Spirit rectify all our erroneous ways of thinking, speaking and acting.
