Conclusion

These questions were brought before us at the end of yesterday’s offering. What God-given power and authority have we in our feet? How potent are our feet? Our divine desire and pleading-need was and still is this. As we return to these Scripture verses whether familiar or unfamiliar, we shall be refreshed, re-fused, refueled and returned to all privilege, favour and pronouncement, concerning our feet.

Holy Creator God, Holy Spirit Divine, Holy Saviour and Redeemer, even as each word of Scripture is given re-birth and renewal in our hearts and minds, may we please know a complete changeover, back to our right and true original position, in the Lord. Amen!

Our first listening and receiving is with Jesus, who has spoken these words of power and privilege to His disciples. Do you believe that Jesus only meant it for those in His time? I don’t. I ask you this. Does Jesus’ work of ministry still go on today by His servants and disciples? If the Gospel message is still to be carried to all people everywhere, then Jesus’ authority, power and presence must accompany His servants. No person can uphold God’s charge without His Holy Spirit. O yes! Definitely and undoubtedly, this is for you, me and all who are God’s servants.

Jesus has spoken these words. Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Luke 10: 19. To trample, or tread on serpents and snakes, means all those of God’s creation that crawl around on the earth, seeking to do mischief. They are those who set about and purpose in their hearts to do mischief in their ways. All those, whoever they may be and whatever it may be, our manner, or walking, or proceeding in whatever the mischief, is one of dominance. Paul gives perfect example, when he trampled on the mischief of a deceitful prophet, in the church family. And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord? Acts 13: 10. KJV. As people of potency, we have the same authority, power, presence and privilege as Paul. .

Here is David’s personal testimony of the faithfulness of Creator God’s pronounced and announced favour on His human creation, presiding over all the other works of His hands. David, who lived in the secret place of the Most High, who kept under the shadow of the Almighty as his refuge and dwelling place, knew this potency of promise in his life. He writes in this testimony of truth for you and me also. For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone. You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot. Psalm 91: 11 – 13 NKJV

One of the stubborn reassurances we are receiving, gushing down upon us, challenging great changeovers in us, is this. In the same way salt comes fully potent and we do not have to do anything to make it salty, so too with our given dominion – processing, person, pronouncement, precedence and potency – all already given by Creator God. Abide in Him, simply stay in our Staying God, and you have all these under your feet.

Let’s return to the salt. We know that as obvious as this may be, our deeper attention is drawn to the fact that salt comes already salty. No power has been given to us human beings to make salt more salty or less salty. It is just the same as with God’s Living Word. We have not been given dominion over God’s Word, to make it more powerful or less powerful. We are just to be the Word in us. As salt, we are just to be the salt of the earth, as we are made salt. Additionally however, from what Jesus has stated, we have a huge, fearsome warning against which we must take unprecedented precaution. Hear Jesus again. You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. Matthew 5: 13. NKJV. Indeed, the grave warning is that salt can lose its potency, its power, its usefulness and it can never become re-salted, or re-seasoned. This is dread, on earth! This is hell, on earth! It is pure separation from Creator God who has made us to trample on all His creation that have gone wild and mad, and not to be trampled by them.

Not one of us, regardless of who we are as believers and despite where we are as followers of the Lord, wants to live such a changeover life from truth. God has given us dominion over that which is His dominion and made us to subdue and rule over, but the evil one over whom we have been given rule, unrestrained rule in Christ Jesus, has caused us to switch positions through his Anansi-like craftiness, cunning and cajoling. O how we fall prey to the devil and his cohorts who, and with swift alacrity, even before we realize what’s happening, find ourselves under the feet of deceivers. That is not good, for all we have done is shown our disobedience to Creator God and our obedience to His created beings.
