Conclusion
On the final day of this week, the question is this. Have we gone far away from our text? Have we missed it altogether? Certainly not! It can never be, as long as we have been following the Holy Spirit, who has been not just leading us, but granting us the spiritual capacity to listen, learn and reason, with changed minds.
Here is the text. Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? Luke 11: 11. In His unquestionable wisdom, that which is never akin, in any semblance, to human wisdom and reasoning, we have been led a circuitous path, gathering every unimaginable treasure that we can gather. This was imperative, as now we are well prepared, fit and fixed, to feed on this text with pleasure, like John, resting on the bosom of Jesus. We have humbled ourselves and have become as little children before our Loving Father, whose banner of Love, keeps us in His employ, as His models.
We come willingly with all submission as, in Christ Jesus, His Presence, Person and Power in us, allow us to also live and show this fact. Our food is to simply do our Father’s will and finish His work.
His will is that we know and show that He is, in Spirit and in Truth, our Heavenly Father, without any hesitation whatsoever.
His will is that we know and show that He is much more loving, and caring than even the best human fathers.
Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead?
Which of you fathers, is a deceiver to his little child? A deceiver, willingly, consciously and calculatingly, tricks and leads people into awfully dangerous and deadly paths to their expressed harm. Which father will respond in such an outright deceitful way to his child in need? Who, when his hungry child asks for a fish, serves a snake, camouflaged as a fish? None! So why does your life show and tell the world, that Father God has been a deceiver to you? Check yourself! Check the words you speak and the things you do.
Which of you fathers, is a demon to his little child? A demon is one who is unrelentingly evil and whose entire being is nothing but evil. A demon cannot help but be demonic in thought, word and action, no less than a lion can help being vicious in its attacks. Demons, such as worry, anxiety, unforgiveness, panic, stress and unbelief, possess one’s entire being and make one’s life a living hell. Which father will respond in such an outrageously demonic way, to his child in need? Who, when his asking child, makes request of a fish, will plate a snake, all nicely dressed, as a fish? None! So why does your life show and tell the world, that Father God has been a demon to you? Check yourself, the words you speak and the things you do.
Which of you fathers, is a deserter to his little child? A deserter is one who abandons one’s calling, one’s work and one’s responsibility, to be and do something different. Deserters are most aware of their actions and for whatever reason, legitimate or not, they totally abandon promises and pledges made - breaking covenant or contract. When a father breaks his unwritten and unspoken covenant with his child, it means that everything he does, will be to the harmful detriment of that child, causing her or him to do wrong, because of the father’s wicked actions. Which father will desert his role as father, not being the one to help his child in need? Who, when his needy child, in need of the food which he has, will turn traitor against his child? Who will desert his godly responsibility of doing what is good for his child, and doing what is demonically, wicked and evil instead? None! So why does your life show and tell the world, that Father God has been a deserter to you? Check yourself! Check the words you speak and the things you do, as a professed child of God.
Feast on these words fully. Let the Spirit’s reasoning call you to attention. Your work as God’s little child, is to model who Father God is to His children, for all the world to see. He is not the hireling, the one who is the deceiver, the demon and the deserter. He is the Good Shepherd, the Good Father, who gives His last breath for His priceless and precious little ones.
