Changeover Processing

We have come to this time, trusting God to keep us ever watchful, aware and seeking in prayer, to save us from our first nature. It is our tendency to allow trials, burdens, troubles and all the cares of this transient world, to lure us into being controlled and managed by the person and presence of the cunning deceiver, and not by the Person and Presence of the True One. We must be forever persistent in seeking to keep our Lord, as our Changeover Person, at all times.

As we proceed in this our changeover week, we take out and listen to this verse as our second changeover picture.

Then God said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.  Genesis 1: 26

What have we before us? The word that comes as a bright light before us, even causing us to blink, due to its brightness, is the huge word, dominion. I say it is huge because of what it states to you, signifies to you and sets for you. Dominion, is huge in power, persuasion, polarity, presence and more, if and when dominion means this. When it means to have sovereign and supreme control and authority over things, people or places. Now that is huge because the one who has authority is the one who has supremacy over that which it rules.

Let’s spend some quality time here looking at how the Scriptures use the hugeness of the word, dominion, in this way of having authority and rule over. First of all we honour, praise and glorify our Saviour and Lord, He who is the One Preeminent and Only Supreme God. In Daniel’s God-given vision, this is what he speaks of seeing, One like the Son of Man coming with the clouds of heaven. Daniel 7: 13b. He noted that when He was brought near before the Ancient of Days, Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and His kingdom the one that shall not be destroyed. Daniel 7: 14. We are also being kept very astute and not being foolish in any way to think that dominion only relates to God. The devil, the instigator of sin, caused sin to have dominion over us. Thanks be to God, because of His Son Jesus Christ, who has broken that yoke of bondage from us, and who sits at the Right Hand of the Father, interceding for us, we can know and believe this truth. For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace. Romans 6: 14. Oh! May we truly know a changeover in power as to whose dominion we are under.

We are not to be afraid of any other authority, power or dominion, for Jesus has literally, physically and spiritually, conquered. This is what Paul tells us about what God has done in Jesus, in Ephesians 1: 20b - 21. He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.

There must be a changeover in our processing of what is written for us. We have been given the privilege of freely hearing the word through different avenues. We have been more than fortunate and favoured to have the Scriptures at our ready disposal, also in different forms. However, all this is but vanity, insidiousness and total emptiness to us, if we do not have a change in procession, how this is translated and processed in us. Believe it or not, it is simple to detect by any means chosen the difference between processed foods and natural foods. Processed food, that which is good food, but is taken by humans and recreated, as it were, is causing no end of illnesses and troubles to the very body it is feeding, the very body that laps it up daily, hooked and houghed by it. God’s Word is our given Spiritual food, to be processed by Holy Spirit only. When we process it by any other means, regardless of how inviting and palatable it may be, it will only do us great harm and keep us from being obedient to Him who created His Food for our daily consumption.

To what am I specifically referring? I am referring to the huge word, dominion, and how it is being processed in us. Having first given preference and deference to our Great and Holy Lord and how He ought to have full dominion of our lives, we look at what this means in terms of each of us and our given dominion.

We do this tomorrow.
