Changeover Person

Having set our hearts and minds on this week being a changeover week for all who need such changes in our lives, we return to what was brought before us at the end of yesterday’s offering. We were offered our first changeover, as related to how Creator God created us all.

Our first given explosive, illuminating and surprising fact came in the manner of our creation by God. We were reminded that each of us has been: -  

Made by Creator God in His image, not the image of the deceiver. 

Made in the likeness of God, not in the likeness of the devil.

As simple, well-know and well-quoted as this knowledge is, this is the question. Is this truth visible in your life? Remember, this week is for you, no one else. It is for you to see yourself and for me to see myself, so that we can remain as we are, already displaying all the attributes we should be evidencing in Creator God. If we don’t, let us we rush fast to our Creator, for big-time work to be done on us.

What do I mean by visible attributes of God our Creator? I’m as serious as this. God never made you in the likeness of a bird, for example. Yes, birds are God’s creation which He dearly loves and He takes perfect care of them. When He created them, He was pleased and said that His handiwork was good. Birds are of God, they are of worth to Him. Has not Jesus given this powerful word about our Heavenly Father, Creator God? Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. Matthew 10: 29. Jesus also went on to state clearly that you and I are more valuable than many sparrows. As much as birds, even in their lowest state, or any other of God’s wonderful creation are concerned, He never created you and me after their likeness.

On the other hand, we can say with unequivocal confidence and assurance that God never made a bird, in His own image. We can press this even further and pronounce, announce and categorically state this without any interruption. God never made any of His other thousands and thousands of creations, in His likeness. Then God said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness. Genesis 1: 26a.

So what has God given to you and me, human beings, making us like Himself? What have we all been made with, that separated us visibly, from all God’s other creation? God made us expressly and specifically to His honour and glory, and to worship Him alone, with our entire being, no other creation or created thing. We know this in the first and second of the Ten Commandments. Additionally, I draw your attention to what God says to His people, to you and me also, through His servant Isaiah. Everyone who is called by My name, whom I have created for My glory: I have formed him, yes, I have made him. Isaiah 43: 7. 

You are called by His Name. No other of God’s earthly creation is given such honour and privilege. You are to be God’s glory. We listen again to what God says about us human beings, whom He fashioned in His image and likeness. This people I have formed for Myself; they shall declare My praise. Isaiah 43: 21. How is your life declaring God’s praise?

Perhaps some of us need to bow low before our Father in heaven and confess with deep hurt and shame this truth.

Father I have not really been true to Your want and will. My manner, demeanor, countenance and spirit have been upholding and proclaiming the downcast spirit of darkness, and not Your life-giving Spirit of Light. I know for sure that I desperately need, a changeover, Abiding Person in me. Father, I need to glorify You and stop giving glory to the deceiver, who is truly crafty and evil.

Father, I thank You for this exposing, for I know that You have shown me Yourself and myself, not to harm me, but only to help me. Thank You Holy Spirit.  Amen!
