Blockage One

At the end of yesterday’s meditation, I asked you what was your first word of response to Jesus, who simply asked you if you wanted to be made different. Faith is always our friend, if it is genuine and true. On the counter side, fake faith is definitely our enemy.  It was also noted that the infirm man’s formal mind-set, his formal responding to Jesus’ most informal stance, led to the blockages we are now looking at.

Already stated is the fact that three huge blockages have been diagnosed in this one response of the infirm man. Here is the response. The sick man answered Him, Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me. John 5: 7

We shall now look at the first blockage in the man’s response to Jesus.

I have no man…

Jesus, who is Lord, has asked the man if he wants to be better and he drops the level to humans. What does the creation have to do with the Creator? This is what I mean. The Lord has asked you, not somebody else, if you want to be a changed person, free from your infirmities and you begin to talk about people and how they have treated you.

Check yourself! Can this be a picture of you in any form or fashion? The reality is that Jesus is His Living Word and He still asks you and me, who are plagued by infirmities, whether or not we want to be made well. We all have infirmities, but some have many, while others have few. Do your infirmities include those of self-pity, name-calling and blame-assigning?

Jesus has come to you, where you are and as you are. He is the Person who has said that if you will simply believe, minus all your hang-ups, He can and will make things different for you. It isn’t that you don’t know about Jesus. It isn’t even that you have not heard His offer to help you. The issue is with your infirm faith, which keeps company with unhelpful company.

Come on now! Do you think that God’s been away, or asleep all your troubled life, and He has just awakened? Is that why you think that you have to now fill Him in with what has been happening and how unfair people have been to you? You begin your response to Jesus’ question about you wanting to be made better, with the Blame Game.

Jesus is not about blame! Blame is a leprotic disease that eats away at all decency and clemency, keeping you as a miserable complainer.

Think about yourself!
Don't you blame in many different ways?

We continue with another blockage, tomorrow.
