Answer From God

Today, on this final day of the week of revelations, which have been jogging memories, convicting minds and giving new and needed assurances of faith, hope and trust in our Heavenly Father, we stand in conviction, contrition and celebration of who our God is, has always been and forever will be.

This is all personal! This is what no one can know for you, for you must know the life of one who has humbled himself or herself before the One and Only Creator. Unless we believe our God, He whom we worship and before whom we bow reverently, in honour, glory and power, is creator of all things, and that by His will, all things were created and have their being, our lives and therefore our prayers will be amiss.

Holy Spirit, keep showing me my life and my relationship with my Father God, and help me please, to accept Your truth and seek daily help to know my Father, in Spirit and in Truth. Amen!

We are looking at the snapshots where David in his distress, has called to God. He never called another Name, but the Name of his God.

We have also seen his freedom and utter confidence in his God, to cry out to Him. He cries out, without shame or any kind of hindrance, to his Lord. He just lets it come out, as vomit comes out, unaided and unselected.

We have been made to note, with care, that he cries out for help. In this moment of distress, he is like a shipwrecked person, who is simply crying out, Help! Help! Help! The one crying out is not stipulating how the help is to come, or what the help is to be. The very distress cry or distress signal of the shipwrecked one, indicates all. The distress call of David is, help! I cried out to my God for help.

What is the result of David’s looking to his God? Listen to what he testifies about his God. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears.

Here are three life-size snapshots, which cannot but engulf you and lay you bare, before our Father in heaven.

From his temple he heard my voice.

Here is living, untainted testimony. From God’s temple, He heard the voice of His servant. Where is God’s temple? Are you not told this in Scripture? Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you? 1 Corinthians 3: 16. From within you, therefore, God hears, not the voice of somebody in distress, but He hears your voice, no one else’s. In other words, regardless of how many voices are calling to Him, He hears your voice. This has flashed across my mind and I share it with you. Jesus went public, when He said that His sheep know His voice, and because of that, they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away because they, do not recognize a stranger’s voice. John 10: 5. Now, if the sheep know the voice of the Shepherd, will not the Shepherd know the voice of the sheep?

All praise and thanks to our Knowing Lord!

My cry came before him.

The ever-growing and ever-brightening snapshots now show that David’s cry has come before the God, who knows his voice. Suppose you had a case that was before Judge X, for example. Among other things, it means that your case is in the hands of that Judge X, and that he is responsible for the judgments made. By faith, when you believe and know that your cry has come before your God, your undivided assurance is that He and only He, is responsible for the outcome. Your trust must be in Him.

All praise and thanks to our Trustworthy Lord!

Into his ears.

This is the giant-size snapshot, if you like, the one that closes and seals it all for you. David brings his God to us, in such a human and down-to-earth manner, we cannot deny this fact, no matter how we try. David does not only speak of his God as a Person who has ears, but he publishes the fact that his prayers have gone into the very ears of God. No angel, no heavenly servant, has to come from heaven, take David’s cry and carry it to David’s God. No! His distress cry goes directly into the ears of God. It’s like medicines, which are given intravenously, so that they go directly into the veins. What a God we serve!  Our distress cries go direct to Him, so that He hears and helps.

All praise and thanks to our Hearing Lord!

Our Father in heaven, You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive from us all, glory, honour and power for You are Omnipotent. We believe that You created all things for You are the One Creator. Your Sovereign will is Supreme, therefore it is by Your will that all things were created and have their being in You. You are LORD. Thank You that we can come to You and cry out to You in our distress. Thank You, that from Your temple, You hear each distress cry for help. Thank You that You hear each calling voice, that each cry comes before You, in Your ears. Amen!
