A View Of First And Last Coming

We begin with strong confirmation of faith that our Wise, Sovereign, Father God will grant us clarity of discernment and wisdom, to recognize treasure and not turn sceptical, unbelieving minds to what we have received or are about to receive.

Previously, I confessed what happened to me, when I felt as though I was hit by a burning bullet, while listening to an Advent message, on the first Sunday in Advent. I related how my mind was gently steered to the time in the Advent narrative of our Lord’s First Coming, when there was great mourning, wailing and weeping. I also enquired as to whether or not, in most unusual and uncharacteristic ways, you were also being led towards thoughts, which you never had room for, previously. Wherever you and I are in mind and heart, we have humbled ourselves to come and find out more of what is being shown to us. We continue, with facts about the Second and First Coming of our Lord, where treasure is to be found.

Quoted again for you, is one of the passages of Scripture, directly dealing with our Lord’s Second Coming, which the Minister of God brought to us. Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen. Revelation 1: 7

We now listen to prophecy in Jeremiah 31: 15. This is what the LORD says: A voice is heard in Ramah, mourning and great weeping, Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted, because they are no more.

The fulfilment of this prophecy, spoken hundreds of years before, came to reality with the Birth of Messiah. Let’s listen with keen hearing, to Matthew 2: 16 - 18. When Herod realized that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was furious, and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and younger, in accordance with the time he had learned from the Magi. Then what was said through the prophet Jeremiah was fulfilled: A voice is heard in Ramah, weeping and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted, because they are no more.

Suddenly, the Advent News of glad tidings of great joy, announced by the heavenly messenger, have turned the opposite way for mother Rachel. Who is Rachel? She represents the mother of Israel, who helped build up the house of Israel. She is the image of all the Jewish families, who comprise the families of Israel. Indeed, at Jesus’ First Coming, there was great sorrow.  All that His Advent has brought is weeping and great mourning.

Clearly, though the reasons are dissimilar, aren’t you left wondering and pondering in your heart and mind this puzzling scene of similarity? The First Coming of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, saw great mourning, weeping and wailing. We have been told and by faith, unconditionally believe that the Second Coming of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, will bring great mourning, weeping and wailing.

Just a morsel of this truth, has been so sharp to the taste, that like me, many of you are immediately humbled and seek only the wisdom of God for our lives in this. There is connection, no matter how small, between the First and Second Coming of our Lord and Saviour as King.

Is there anything else in common with our Lord’s Coming, which we need to know?

This will be pursued tomorrow.
