The Name Of Jesus

The Name of Jesus is a living, present power that is self-sufficient and carries power beyond human measure. His Name, Jesus, no other named Jesus, but His Name, is life. These are what have been pressing home at me, with gentle, but urgent force in this time and place.
Jesus, is a name which other people have, just like Paul has a name others have. When, for example, people who were opposed to the Way, heard that Paul was coming, just at the name of Paul coming in Jesus’ Name, made people most uncomfortable and afraid even that he was one of, These who have turned the world upside down have come here too, Acts 17: 6b KJV. In other words, wherever Paul goes in the Name of Jesus, nothing remains the same. He takes the love and power of Jesus wherever he goes. The Name of Jesus, as a Name then, is not exclusive to Jesus, in that He is not the only human on the earth, who was christened with the name Jesus. Yet His Name, Jesus, is high above every other named Jesus, and high above every other name, male or female. Philippians 2: 9b tells us that God, gave him the name that is above every name. We know for example, that the English pronunciation is Jesus, the Hebrew is Yeshua, which in English is Joshua. We also know that the name Jesus, in Spanish, it is Jesús. All we are being made aware of is that the name Jesus, is not like the Name of Jesus.
Another thing that has been pressing on me, is that anyone can call the name Jesus. In other words, if your name is Paul, anyone can speak your name. But if your name is Paul, the servant and apostle of God, then your name will be known in power by humans and other spiritual powers also. Your name, in Jesus’ Name will be known by demons, just as Jesus’ Name. Let me quote these verses, which are most self-explanatory and self-revealing. It is a chief devil’s testimony about Paul, who comes in the Name of Jesus. Some vagabond Jews saw the fantastic works which Paul was doing in Jesus’ Name and decided to do the same, calling Jesus’ Name. This is what transpired.
Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the LORD Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus who Paul preacheth. And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? Acts 19: 13 – 15. KJV.
Mind you, like Paul, they were calling the Name of Jesus, but that only got them into extremely hot water with the demons, not with Jesus. All we are being made aware of is that the Name Jesus, is not forbidden from any kind of tongue, but not every kind of tongue will fare well, by calling the Name of Jesus.
This also pressed and weighed heavily on me, when I was told to listen to what demons were speaking. We are told by Luke that once, after leaving the synagogue, Jesus and the disciples went to Simon’s house, where they found his mother-in-law very ill with a fever. He cured her right then and there and in the evening, at sunset, people came in droves to be healed. Nevertheless, this is the part that gets me, up to now. Devils also came out of many, crying out and saying, to Jesus that He is the Christ of God. Thou art Christ the Son of God. And he rebuking them suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ. Luke 4: 41 KJV.
My question is this. Were the demons not naming Jesus, who is Christ? Is that precisely why Jesus stops them from saying anything more about His Name, who He is? They were naming Him, big time, and Jesus could not have demons telling His Story, as it were. I say that this one digs deep into my consciousness, conscientiousness and conscience. This is because I still wonder whether I know our Jesus, today, as those demons knew Him and still know Him. Where do you stand?
Do you truly know Jesus, Christ, the Son of God?
