All The Way

We conclude this very blessed week, which was extremely revealing, instructing and right for so many of us believers, as we began, professing this fact.
Where He leads me I will follow,
Where He leads me I will follow,
Where He leads me I will follow,
I’ll go with Him, with Him, all the way.
This was no communal or collective claim. This was a personal pronouncement. That being the case, we conclude on personal notes, as we each seek to ensure that wherever our Lord and Master, who is Spirit, leads, we will follow.
Two sets of converts to Jesus Christ, our Risen Lord, who is now with us in ever Present Spirit, were placed before us. We carefully and prayerfully saw how they followed Jesus in the ways He led them. There was no surmising, gainsaying and changing one jot from what Jesus wanted.
First, we saw new converts in Ephesus and how they followed Jesus all the way, in literally burning up all that belonged to their old way of living. Believe you me, this cost them some real worldly riches and gain, because they possessed valuable books, potions and more, according to the flesh. They never let the public fire waste. Each new convert to the Way, personally threw into that consuming, cleansing fire, all that belonged to their magic or sorcery. As each threw his or her stuff in, was not that person being cleansed and freed from them?
Next, we saw old converts in Joppa, Peter, a Jew and six other believers. We noted with deep interest and heart-warming admiration, how they each followed Jesus all the way, as they walked together with three Gentiles. These men of Jesus have not wasted the fire which the Holy Spirit created. They each literally burnt up all that belonged to their old way of living. Believe you me, this cost them, real worldly riches and gain, because they were respectable, law-abiding, law-advocating, and law-activating Jewish citizens. They were proud of their Jewish upbringing and lifestyle. Indeed, none of those seven let the public fire waste. Each old convert to the Way, personally gave up his thinking, his belief, his dedication, his pride and more, in relation to the law concerning Jews and Gentiles. As each threw his unwanted ways into the fire, as it were, was not that person being cleansed and freed from all erroneous ways of thinking about the law?
Where are you and where am I in our followership? Whether you are a recent convert, now beginning to follow our Lord, or you are one who has been converted a long while ago, each of us personally needs the same Consuming Fire. For our God is a consuming fire. Hebrews 12: 29. The fire is needed for each of us to cast in all that hinders us from following Jesus all the way, in Spirit and in Truth. Difference must be seen in each of us, as was seen in the Ephesians and in Peter and his companions.
The Fire is brightly blazing, for the Holy Spirit is convicting and convincing.
Are you following where Jesus is leading you, in this time of your life? If you are not, then throw your present ways into the Consuming Fire that you may be free to follow where He leads. Don’t let the Fire waste!
Are you following Jesus all the way and not in part of the way? For example, are you following Him when it comes to religious matters? However, when it comes to social, financial, health and other personal matters, you take the lead. If this is your way at the moment, in any concerns, cast it into the Consuming Fire. Do this so that you will be released from all that is hindering you from going all the way with Jesus. Don’t let the Fire waste!
Are you following in fits and starts, as a person who is following a guide only when the path he or she has chosen interests you? Throw such fickle and insincere following into the Consuming Fire, now. With your eyes wide open and in your correct mind, be free from behaviours which vex God. Don’t let the Fire go to waste.
Holy Lord Jesus, Master and Leader, where You lead me, I will follow. I will go with you all the way. Amen!
