Our Caring, Feeding Father

Give praise and thanks to our Father above,

For His un-waning, dependable love,

His love that refuses to let us go,

Love that wants us His sweet mercies to know,

He is our Father who knows each by name,

And never refuses His own to claim,

Give Him thanks and praise in His love embrace,

You’re alive today, because of His grace,

To Father, Son and Holy Ghost we bow,

Make us pleasing to You, God, even now.

Amen!

 

With a life-full of praise and heart-full of thanks, we come on this first day of a new week, ready to receive all the manna our heavenly Father has prepared for us.

Last week, we were taken on two-day walks and talks with our Lord. However, during this week, we are being offered two three-day passes, as it were, to exclusively feed and feast on some most unusually delightful Spiritual Bread. We come to this favoured week in like manner, as we have read about God and our forefathers long ago. God is our Father in heaven and He was their heavenly Father also. As His way and will were for His people at that particular time, so it is for us in this our peculiar time. We believe this by faith, for it is faith and faith alone in God that allows us to not just believe, but to receive, eat and be satisfied. 

Let’s go to this familiar Scripture passage, as we read it in Deuteronomy 8: 2 – 4.

And you shall remember that the LORD your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not. So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor your fathers did know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the LORD. Your garments did not wear out on you, nor did your foot swell these forty years.

We take note that God fed His children manna in the wilderness, where there was no food and when they could not provide food for themselves. Our Feeding Father still feeds us in our wilderness times, so that we are made aware of the fact that we are not to live by bread alone, but we must live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the LORD.

In these two three-day sessions of receiving, every word that comes to us from the Spirit, only those who are truly hungry, will know its efficacy. Remember! Manna came to God’s hungry children at a time when they could not feed themselves, a wilderness time. Are you in a spiritual wilderness? Are you in a place where it is dry and empty of good, nourishing and satisfying food? Then this week is custom cut for you, for these are the perfect conditions for God to rain down manna for you.
