Why Are You Bleeding?

In Mark 12: 18 – 27, Jesus is facing some hidden demons, concealed to the human eye, but revealed to the Spirit’s eye. Who are these demons and what is their intention? These are agents of the deceiver who have come to Jesus with a question bent on destroying His Reputation and Relationship with God, the Father. Who are these servants of deceit? They come in the form of some Sadducees.

This is what is taking place. They see Jesus and come with a question on Resurrection, yet they who are seeking the Lord’s Mind on this subject, do not believe in the Resurrection of the dead. You must see the exposed demons before Jesus. To the public, these men are honourable, well-educated citizens in their Jewish community. These are holy men, but before Jesus they have come only to taunt and catch Him in their snare. Jesus is not taken in by them at all. You see, Jesus knows their minds, their craftiness, their motives and their intentions. He knows their hidden agenda.

These clever ones are using camouflaged stunts, as it were, to cause:-

• The mind of Jesus to be Blinded.

• The hands of Jesus to be Bound.

• The heart of Jesus to be Bleeding.

The Publicity Stunt: - There is the Public dimension. They find Jesus at a time when there is a public gathering. People all around can see and hear all that they are doing. Remember, these are scholars, the holy educated, very strong in their beliefs and their intent is to publicly show Jesus up as a fake. But Jesus turns this stunt back on them. They are left ‘bleeding’, not He.

The Personal Stunt: - There is the Personal dimension. They bring in this Law and makes it very personal and crucial to them. They claim ownership of it. They not only quote the Law given by Moses, but they are being quite personal in acknowledging that the law is for them also. “Moses wrote for us…..” They include themselves here. Also they are quite respectful to address Jesus as “Teacher,” as if they consider Him Teacher as they are. Jesus turns this use of the personal right back on them. They are left ‘bleeding’, not He.

The Practical Stunt: - There is the Practical dimension. Jesus is asked to show the practicality of this scenario. This is a very practical question, which demands a practical answer. But Jesus does not fall for this either and responds with a most practical Spiritual meaning, to their limited human understanding. He leaves them unable to answer Him. They are left ‘bleeding’, not He.

They who came to get Jesus now, have their own tactics turned upon them. This is so because Jesus is not camouflaged in any way. Listen to this and listen well. Seven sons of a Jewish chief priest Sceva, Acts 19: 14 -16, are bleeding, because they faced demons in their own, deceived strength and power. Paul faced those same demons, yet he was not left bleeding. What then is the problem?

Certainly not your demons, because they can be beaten at their own game, as long as the One, True Holy Spirit abides and works in you.

You are not supposed to be bleeding, as long as you are being directed and guided by our Holy Spirit. Are you bleeding?
