Two Days After Ascension

Now that we have come to the week’s final hours, perhaps you are having mixed, unexplained feelings and emotions. Maybe the thought of having convincing proofs come to an end is a bit saddening. Be consoled! Ascension Lord’s Day Sunday is still to come. For the present, however, we continue under the guidance of the Wise One, with our eyes still glued to our Risen Lord.

Explain

Having been guided through the steps of our Lord’s Wisdom, as He exposed the Pharisees and extracted the truth about who they really are in their mission and motives, we continue to be shown more.

The third strategic step of the wisdom of Jesus, is to explain exactly what they are saying. Listen again to these learned men of inferior wisdom. Is it lawful? Listen to Jesus, with His superior Wisdom. What did Moses command you? Two things jump out at us, as the Holy Spirit freely gives understanding and spiritual sight.

These learned, pompous, testing people have come to Jesus, camouflaging their motives as they introduce their ruse, with a generalization. As far as they have skillfully planned it, they will be very careful not to let this Rabbi feel that they are targeting Him. Their approach is most inclusive, if you like. However, Jesus is most exacting and uses His Supernatural wisdom to be exact, precise and most shrewd.

The other thing is really stunning. Can you hear how Jesus, not only mentions Moses, but He makes the command personal to them, by using the personal pronoun, you? What did Moses command you? It is not, what Moses commanded the people, but what has he commanded you. O, the Superior, Supreme, Supernatural wisdom of our Risen Lord and Saviour, Jesus! Who can stand up to His wisdom? This personal accountability reminds us of an occasion when followers told Jesus about the Galileans, whose blood Pilate has mixed with their sacrifices. Jesus turns His disciples' attention back on themselves, making it all personal. Yes, they had come to Him with news about people who were killed most tragically. Jesus used the opportunity to teach about the personal nature of the Kingdom. Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way? I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish. Luke 13: 2 - 3.

In this moment, dear Jesus, I bow to Your wisdom and understanding. I die to all of my ways of thinking – learned and contrived – for nothing of me compares with You. You have brought me to this understanding through what I could never envisage, even with my highest and best mind, for I am absolutely dead and daft to Your ways.

When the wisdom of lawful minds try their best to test you and show you as a fake, fraud and false, make sure that you are who you say you are. If the Holy Spirit abides in you, then you will be witnesses to His Supreme, Superior, Supernatural wisdom, which still Exposes, Extracts and Exacts all truth.
