Time To Pray Or Not

On this Lord’s Day Sunday, we come with lofty praise and thanks for being able to see this time. We give God thanks, conscious that He is LORD and that He still rules and hold supreme sway and preeminence, even here on earth. We are also ever conscious that He is Creator and He made everything. John 1: 3 tells us this. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
In addition, we are subdued and ever grateful for life, for He did not only create us, but He directs our paths. Today, a WhatsApp message came to me and it said, “God has placed you on the wakeup list.” I never thought of it in quite that way, but it is true, because God is the giver and taker of life. You and I are alive in this moment because He gives life. The enemy comes to take life, the Lord comes to give life and give it in abundance. We therefore give God thanks for life and surrender our given lives daily to Him, as He daily gives life to us.
Thank You Lord, for life and for the privilege of seeing another day. I know that I’m alive by Your grace and goodness and not by any works of mine. You are Supreme Creator and Supreme destroyer. There is no other God, apart from You. Accept our adoration and contrition of heart, for we would be Your obedient children, pleasing You through Your ever present Spirit. Amen!
During the past weeks in October, we were taken through pathways of prayer and made to come to prayer more freely, honestly, truthfully and obediently. Obedience in prayer kept us on straight paths of, praying words of faith, praying aright, praying ceaselessly, praying without fainting and praying believing for what you have prayed. However, nothing was mentioned about obeying God in prayer, by not praying, ceasing from engaging in current praying or even changing your prayer focus as directed.
In this week, which spans the end of one month and the start of another, we have a conclusion and commencement which draw us to a most unusual topic concerning prayer. In our obedience in prayer, were we ever kept from, or forbidden to pray?
Teach Holy Spirit, as only You can. Amen!
During this week, our focus will be on three stations, when to you, prayer is the perfect response, but you will learn that prayer is an action which God desires. Your instinctive, learned or calculated response to pray, is not always the response the Lord requires.
