Time of Convincing Proofs

This week is not just special because it’s a week of honouring mothers and giving thanks to God for them, but it is a week to be savoured for quite a different reason.

We all know the wisdom of our Lord Jesus, in remaining in His glorified Body for another forty days, to ensure that His disciples were convinced that He was alive. For almost six weeks, He dedicated His time, giving undeniable proof to His disciples that He was indeed alive. After his suffering, he showed himself to these men and gave them many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God. Acts 1: 3. Jesus knew the wisdom, necessity and strategy of ensuring that His disciples, knew that He was indeed alive. In His wisdom, the Omniscient God, made certain that they were so convinced that He was alive, they would become first-hand witnesses of truth, which nothing and no one could take from them.

I believe with all my heart that our Lord still gives convincing proofs to His own, to seal the fact of His resurrection. This is how I have been looking at it. Jesus stayed with His disciples, followers, for forty days after He rose from the grave. Well, if as many followers have been doing, you have been conscious of those forty days, looking and receiving continuous, convincing evidence from our Lord, then you will know that this is the final week before His Ascension. In other words, with Ascension Sunday beginning this coming week, although the specific day given as Ascension Day is on this week’s Thursday, we know that we are nearing the time of not having Jesus with us in Resurrected Body. Faith and by faith alone, can anyone of us receive this understanding and the wisdom of Jesus in this matter.

The wisdom of Jesus is second to none and for the remainder of this week, we have been given a well-known incident, to show the wisdom of our Jesus and how, as we come to the close of this faith-based time, we too need to receive His wisdom.

Remember, Jesus spent His allocated time of forty days, convincing His disciples that He was alive and educating them on the Kingdom of God. Will we also receive some convincing proof to ground and stabilize us in this fact? Will we receive more and new teaching of the Kingdom of God?

Tomorrow we forge ahead with urgency and purpose, knowing that we do not want to be left out or miss anything from Jesus.
