Here is the Bible Text which will be with us throughout the week. We receive it, knowing that it will be revealed to us as our Lord desires.

For sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, deceived me, and through the commandment put me to death. Romans 7: 11

For sin.

The writer is talking about sin, all sin, whether the sin of omission or commission. Sin is not viewed in terms of the wrongs and evils we hold according to our measure of severity or dastardliness. No! Be not ignorant and deceived. Sin is any thought, word or deed which does not belong to Father God. Sin therefore is any thought, word or action that is of Satan. The devil is real and he is walking around day and night, twenty-four seven, with one mission and one mission only. It is to keep us in the grips of sin, so that we will know death and damnation and not life and salvation.

We receive and continue to receive death through him, who is the father and epitome of sin. He who is sin throughout, in whom no good is ever found, is the enemy of God. It is as impossible to get good from the devil, as it is impossible to get oranges from an apple tree. We know about fruit trees, but we do not ever believe and take the stern, serious warnings we receive daily from the Lord. We turn a deadly, deaf ear to God and His Word, because we are so utterly deceived by the cunning, powerful Satan. We live as people who are pleasing God, when we are the perfect children of sin. Yes, we are the perfect examples of the power of sin.

On the other hand, exactly the same understanding holds as perfectly true. The Holy Spirit is real and He is walking around day and night, twenty-four seven, with one mission and one mission only. It is to keep us in the grips of Love, so that we will know life and salvation and not death and damnation. We receive and continue to receive life through Him, who is the Father and epitome of Righteousness. He who is Righteousness throughout, in whom no evil is ever found, is the enemy of Satan. It is as impossible to get evil from the Lord, as it is impossible to get oranges from an apple tree. The fact is that we are most cognizant and personally knowledgeable about fruit bearing, when it comes to nature, but we are so utterly deceived, when it comes to Spiritual fruit bearing. We continue to believe that we are pleasing God, because of the good things we do and say, when they are but ploys in the deceiver’s hands, to keep us as perfect servants of his.

Do not remove your eyes from the fact that our given text is speaking about sin and the power of sin.

Sin is evil. Sin is of the devil. Sin is Satan.
