We begin with a reminder of the Bible Passage. Will you read it again, consciously seeking Spiritual sense, wisdom and understanding to know – see, feel and receive - The Right Hand which goes on ad infinitum?
And Joseph said to his brothers, Please come near me. So they came near. Then he said: I am Joseph your brother, whom you sold into Egypt. But now, do not therefore be grieved or angry with yourselves because you sold me here; for God sent me before you to preserve life. For these two years the famine has been in the land, and there are still five years in which there will be neither plowing nor harvesting. And God sent me before you to preserve a posterity for you in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance. So now it was not you who sent me here, but God; and He has made me a father to Pharaoh, and Lord of all his house, and ruler throughout all the land of Egypt. Hurry and go up to my father, and say to him, Thus says your son Joseph: God has made me lord of all Egypt; come down to me, do not tarry. Genesis 45: 4 – 9 NKJV
Here now is the fourth stanza of the hymn.
The right hand of God is lifting in our land,
Lifting the fallen one by one;
Each one is known by name,
And lifted now from shame,
By the lifting of the right hand of God.
LIFTING
The fourth action work of God’s Right Hand is that of lifting. He is lifting, in all our family gatherings, our house meetings, our class meetings, our praise and worship church services, the guilty, the criminals, the perpetrators, and the totally offensive. This is what the Bible text tells, as we note exactly what Joseph is doing for his family. For these two years the famine has been in the land, and there are still five years in which there will be neither plowing nor harvesting. And God sent me before you to preserve a posterity for you in the earth.
To lift, is a definite, conscious, planned and concerted action, which totally removes one from his or her current position. Look carefully and see how Joseph is lifting his beloved brothers out of any worries, fears and anxieties about the bleak future. The present famine, which has drawn them to the place where Joseph is, is not about to be over, for coming, will be years when there will be, neither plowing nor harvesting. Victoriously, informs Joseph, God has brought me here to preserve you from it, so that you will know His posterity throughout the coming years. The Right Hand of God has never been either short or weak in lifting His people as He has promised to do.
Think of what is happening even now, in the Churches and in our lives. Isn’t the Right Hand of God powerfully, efficiently and miraculously lifting us with Words of His unconquerable Love, Mercy and Grace? Aren’t you being lifted right now, by God Himself, as you receive this Word?
