The Healing Hand of God

We have been following Joseph and how our Teacher, God the Holy Spirit, has been doing in us and to us, exactly what Jesus said He would do.

May I just remind you of something Jesus said to His disciples concerning the Holy Spirit? Is this familiar to you, in mind and movement, in faith and fact and in heart and hand? If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever – the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. John 14: 15 – 17.

All who truly love the Lord, will keep His commands and this is what they will receive. They will receive the Advocate, the Spirit of Truth, who will be their Help and Helper. If this is true for us, do we know categorically that the Holy Spirit is ours, given to us by the Father, through the Son? Do we know and live with stubborn assurance, that He is our Help, so that we lack nothing? Do we believe and show in our lives that He is our Helper, so that we can do everything in Him? If we know these facts about the Holy Spirit in our daily living, then, will we not be a healed people? Here is verse five.

The right hand of God is healing in our land, Healing broken bodies, minds, and souls, So wondrous is its touch With love that means so much, When we're healed by the right hand of God.

HEALING

The fifth action work of God’s Right Hand is healing. God is a Healer and He heals because healing is needed. In the text, Joseph makes it abundantly clear to his brothers that it was God, not them, who has him where he is presently. He is the one bringing healing to them, as God has already ordained. He is there, to save your lives by a great deliverance. So now it was not you who sent me here, but God; and He has made me a father to Pharaoh, and Lord of all his house, and ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.

There is multifaceted healing in this Scripture. Listen to these.

To save your lives by a great deliverance. Isn’t there healing of life right there? Hasn’t God ordained Joseph, to be the vessel through whom He brings healing to His people?

So now it was not you who sent me here. This is indeed huge, for therein, is healing of body, mind and soul. The wicked, evil brothers who, in many ways, killed their brother, Joseph, are receiving total healing from their hideous wrongs. Have those Spirit-anointed, healing words of Joseph, touched you deep within? Hasn’t God appointed Joseph, to be the vessel through whom He brings total healing to the guilty?

When we crucified our Brother Jesus, God the Holy Spirit raised Him up from the dead, so that we sinners may know life, pardoned, new life in Him. Does this not make you extremely concerned about your Spiritual life? What are you doing about it? This is unfortunate, but it is undeniably true of many of us, God’s Church family. We spend unbelievable amounts of time, money, energy and other God-given resources, on our physical selves; selves that are here today and gone tomorrow. Sadly, the indictment is that we spend little or none of these God-given resources, securing our Spiritual selves.

God is Healer. What better person to publish this fact than Job? Listen to what God’s blameless, upright, God-fearing and evil-shunning servant says about God. For He inflicts pain, and gives relief, He wounds and His hands also heal. Job 5: 18.

Brother Jesus has been sent by our Father God to give healing from, every shame, every guilt, every evil and every negative bit of worry, anxiety and fear. You and I profess that Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. By faith, we acknowledge God as sending Jesus, but are we living as people healed by God’s Right Hand, so that we live in this world of worsening darkness, atrocities and degradation, healed from all anxieties, fears, worries, and hopelessness?
