The Events

As we look and listen, we note that the events leading to the conflict which has arisen, are specifically related to a ministry of God that is not being adequately carried out.

Two ministries of the Lord have been highlighted in this passage. They are namely:-

• The ministry of the Word of God. This is the work or responsibility of servants of God, to adequately distribute Spiritual food to all the people of God, without exception.

• The ministry of the Waiting on Tables of God. This is the work or responsibility of servants of God, to adequately distribute physical food to all the people of God, without exception.

It is wise, at this point, to be reminded that the neglect, or overlooking of some widows in relation to others, regarding the daily distribution of food, is specifically about distribution alone. It has absolutely nothing to do with the adequate supply of food. What I mean is this.

The work of the Spirit to provide food, remains unchanged.

The ability of the Spirit to supply food, is unending.

The commitment of the Spirit to ensure food, is binding.

Always remember that God is our Heavenly Father, for He has made us His children. He has taken the Fatherly responsibility as all good, human fathers do, to feed their children. If men, who are evil, know how to be good fathers to their children, in giving them daily bread, how much more our Father in Heaven? Do you remember these words of Jesus to us? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Matthew 6: 26. Food is nothing we ever have to be worried or anxious about, because our Heavenly Father God, will never ever run out of food to feed us daily. He gives us our daily bread.

We know for sure then that the problem is not about inadequate food, insufficient food or any such lack. The problem has to do with human limitations, not Spirit limitations. The Spirit has so been giving steady increases that the apostles have not been managing to shoulder this responsibility they once shouldered and managed with ease. It has become humanly impossible for them to manage without assistance.
