As we continue with references in the Bible, concerning Jesus’ Ascension, we listen to and receive what some of His own disciples, who witnessed their Lord’s Ascension, have documented. I have included the Apostle Paul in this group of witnesses, for although he was not present at the actual event, our Lord gave him personal testimonies, deeply personal at that.
Receive, and experience an exciting and different sort of spiritual transfiguration in your own quickened body. What I mean is this. When I read the words of these giants of faith, I saw them in their zeal, honesty and boldness to speak on their Lord’s Ascension and this spurred me in my spirit to desire to live the mystery of our Lord’s Ascension in my own life. What is this doing for you? What deep, burning desires have been placed in your heart?
I have been led to simply quote the passages of documented writings, and I offer two main reasons for so doing. These were proven in me, so that the more I spent time in not just reading them, but listening in faith to them, I received revelation, inspiration, direction and more. Honestly, you can prove it true in you also. When you take time to sit and listen to what is being said, the results are invaluable. The hearing of the Lord’s Word is indeed precious. Holy Spirit, grant us all faith-hearing, please.
Secondly, you will become conscious of a community of past witnesses in united voice, as if they were all in the same place and time, offering to others, this sacred, solemn and divinely witnessed truth. You are given, not just the ability to hear them, but to see them in faith. I can testify that it is only our Holy present Spirit, who enables such spiritual sight, as we give time to receiving these offerings of Jesus’ disciples. The seeing of the Living Word is most life-changing. Holy Spirit, grant us all faith-seeing, please.
Hear and See – Your HAS moment.
1 Peter 3: 22. Who has gone into heaven and is at God’s right hand - with angels, authorities, and powers in submission to him.
1 Timothy 3: 16. Beyond all question, the mystery of godliness is great: He appeared in body, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory.
Luke 24: 50 – 51. When he had led them out to the vicinity of Bethany, he lifted up his hands and blessed them. While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven.
Acts 1: 10 – 11. They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. Men of Galilee, they said, why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.
John 3: 13 ESV. No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man.
Hebrews 9: 24. For Christ did not enter a man-made sanctuary that was only a copy of the true one; he entered heaven itself, now to appear for us in God’s presence.
