The Dart Of Slander

And he has slandered your servant to my lord the king.

A man’s trusted servant has slandered his name before the king. This is truly a dart of transgression, for the servant has suddenly begun to speak with a forked tongue. Note, Ziba the slanderer, is not speaking lies about his master to any and everybody. He is speaking directly to the king. He has taken his slander to the highest rule. What a thing! What a travesty! Wisdom educates us thus-wise; whoever spreads slander is a fool. Proverbs 10: 18b

Slander is downright wicked, for it is intentional, contrived, well thought through and planned through. The intention of darts of slander is to disgrace, to disarm, and to discredit a person’s respectable name and good character, before those who matter.

What about you? What darts of slander are you propagating against the Name of Jesus and His servants? Don’t bury your head in the sand like an ostrich, and go about thinking that you do not slander the Name of Jesus. You know people who do, but you do not fit into their category, thus you assume an air of piety that is totally false. Jesus’ Name is being slandered all day long by many who wear His Name, but live the life of another master.

I share with you, as it was revealed to me. I find no problem in quoting Scripture texts about the Name of Jesus and demons, for example. Here is one such text. Jesus has clearly stated and promised this. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues. Mark 16: 17.

Note, Ziba was slandering Mephibosheth’s name to the king. I’m shown how I slander the Name of Jesus to Almighty God. I go before Sovereign God and all the demons that plague me and run wild and free have no fear of me, though I claim that I have died to all of self and Jesus rules and reigns in my life. The demons have free board and lodge with me and my life is one which evidences that I am ruled and controlled by demons and that I have no power in Jesus’ Name to drive them all out. Day after day I speak with the same old tongue, nothing new. O how I could not refute that fact! O how I immediately dropped before Father God, seeking His amazing grace and mercy.

Maybe, as a believer in Jesus, this action of slandering Jesus’ Name does not apply to you, nevertheless, you need to listen, hear and know whether or not you are flinging darts of slander against Him and His Trusted Name.
