The Blood

On this third Lord’s Day Sunday in September, this fast closing month which has begun our New Church and School Year, many of us have come with different feelings, different mindsets and different dispositions. We are as varied as the grass of the field, but all united as one through the precious Blood of Jesus. Many a believer has been plagued by doubts, uncertainties and disappointments which have eroded their faith and trust, in Jesus, adding double worry onto all their already laboriously and detrimentally troubled lives.
It is because of who we are, in our various and different states, that today and for the remainder of the week we are being offered and fed the Blood of Christ in ways, very many of us have never yet been offered and fed. As a part of the Church, as a living and active member, I share this Word, this living, quickening Word with you. This word targets all of you like me, who are members of The Body of Christ, all of you who are members, but are not yet in the fold and all who will be brought in by the all-persuasive and all-receiving Word of God.
As has already been indicated, we shall be spending this week receiving greater revelations on blood, the Blood of Jesus Christ, Lamb of God and its unmitigated power to save us from the wrath of Sovereign Father God, wrath, which is our guaranteed death. O yes! I can hear us all saying and some even singing the regular and popular lyrics and mantras about the Blood such as these. ‘The Blood prevails’; ‘There is Power in the Blood’; ‘What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the Blood of Jesus’ and the numerous more. That is good, but is that all the Lord’s Powerful Blood is to many of us, knowing, singing and enjoying great songs about the Blood?
Is the Power of the Blood of Jesus visible in us for the LORD to see? Yes you heard correctly. Is the Blood visible to the LORD? To lead us into all truth is God the Holy Spirit and on Him we heavily and totally depend, as we seek the ear of the one being taught and the heart of the one who heeds.
Throughout this week, we will be led and fed from this most well-known and well-used text.
When the LORD goes through the land to strike down the Egyptians, he will see the blood on the top and sides of the doorframe and will pass over the doorway, and he will not permit the destroyer to enter your houses and strike you down. Exodus 12: 23
May our Holy Spirit speak it to you in quickening tones. Amen!
