The second BAD, is the Banner Accompanying Depletion.

A promise to the children of God is that they will not just know the Lord’s Presence and help, but that they will be a people expanding and growing into a great nation. In short, theirs is a promise of addition not depletion. Listen to the will, mind and heart of Father God for His children, His people. Almighty Yahweh’s covenant with His children has always included increase, multiplying and abundance. To Noah and his sons, this is Yahweh’s covenant. Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth. Genesis 9:1b.

What was Yahweh’s covenant to Abram? Almighty Father God took Abram outside and told him to look up at the heavens and count the stars. Of course, it was impossible for Abram to count them, for they are too numerous. Then God announced to His child, this promise. So shall your offspring be. Genesis 15: 5b.

But here it is, setting out from the correct physical place, the place of Ebenezer, the place of strength, the place of promised help, these Hebrew children march out to face the enemy. Alas! They are not just defeated, but also depleted. Has Yahweh’s promise of increase, only given in non hostile settings? Is His word only applicable when there are no enemies around? Of course not! We are reminded that when the Hebrew children were under enemy rule, when they were horribly oppressed day and night by the enemy, this promise of God stood firm. But the more they were oppressed, the more they multiplied and spread; so the Egyptians came to dread the Israelites. Exodus 1: 12. Banners unto Yahweh, held high and firm.

In this place, this battlefield, the enemy has taken down a great number of Israel’s army. Do not forget that Israel’s army is the Lord’s army, carrying the Lord’s Name. Yet, the enemy has taken down and killed many Hebrews in fighting. We have been told by the Scripture verses that when the Philistines defeated the Israelites they, killed about four thousand of them on the battlefield. 1 Samuel 4: 2b.

I ask you, is this what God wants for His children? Is that what delights Him to have His enemies see of His children? But God is Just and Righteous. He cannot live according to what the enemy will think or thinks. He can only live according to who He is and who He is, will not settle for sin. Father God Himself, has His Hand of punishment and judgment against His stubborn and truant children.

A Banner Accompanying Depletion has been unfolded before us. What is your response? What words of truth has the Holy Spirit pierced you with? Whatever they are, surely He has imprinted upon your heart and your mind that truth and only God’s Truth exposes lies. To stand under the banner of God’s Truth and yet live the lies of deceit, showing outward conforming, yet inwardly there is nothing but self-service, the perfect teaching of the devil; God cannot abide with such. God is Truth and He cannot but expose all untruth.

Today, the banner says: We, the children of God, are a Depleted people.
