Purification And Jesus, Continued

As we come to the last day of our Covenant Week, where we have been deep in purification before offering up to God, what He has given to us, it is good for us to be brought back to where we are and its Spiritual and Mystical truth for us.  We need this teaching, so that our entire perspective of purification before offering to God, is in Spirit and in Truth.

Here are facts which we believe by faith.

Mary was chosen by God to be conceived by the Holy Ghost and to give birth to a Baby Boy, named Jesus. This is what Joseph was told by the angel of God. Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.  Matthew 1: 20b. The fruit, the offspring which Mary gave birth to, was all God ordained and God organized. You too have been called to give birth to God’s conceived Word in you. Remember, the Word is God. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. John 1: 1 NKJV. We are also given greater detail about the Word.  And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1: 14 NKJV.

Jesus is the Living, Present Word and you have been chosen to give birth to God’s Word. It is not your concern how big or small the Word conceived in you is. Your duty and single focus is on the Word, so that you may be the Lord’s perfect vessel for His work. Now we delve into the three disciplines.

The first discipline – Purification takes place when the Word is yet small, young, and a baby. In this solemn time, you are quite aware of the Living Word to which you have given birth. For example, after spending time with the Lord, you are given a word of His, which you keep hidden in your heart. In the right time, as God ordains, you give birth to that Word and though joyful and thankful for such privilege and favour, you have to be mindful that what you have produced is yet young. You have to appreciate and understand that although your given Word is complete, it is yet frail and young. It’s like a bud, which contains the compete flower, but it has to begin small and grow out, until it is seen as a fully developed flower. It is while your given Word is still small that your purification is done.

The second discipline – Purification takes place when the young Word in you is unable to help you. As totally obvious and well-known, a way of life as this is, it eludes us when it comes to the Word. This is what I mean. No one disputes or argues that Jesus came as a Baby Boy, born to Mary. No one will dispute that during those Baby years, He was not able to do anything to help His parents. Does your faith allow you to see the same, for the Word given birth in you? Faith allows us to know that it is when the Word is young and vulnerable that our purification is needed.

The third discipline – Purification takes place while Jesus depended on His mother’s milk to be nourished and grow stronger and stronger. In other words, during her days of isolation when, she shall touch no hallowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days of her purifying be fulfilled, Leviticus 12: 4b KJV, she was consciously attending to Baby Jesus. She was feeding and caring for the Most Hallowed and Most Sacred, in her arms. Does this not make you even more solemnly obedient and greatly favoured, to be able to hold the young, recently born Sacred Word, in your heart, mind, soul and very being, for because of this yet small, non-adult Word, so to speak, you can know purification? Faith and obedience allow us to know purification while the Word is still not mature or fully grown in us.

With Advent still in our consciousness as we have taken this week to know purification because of the Word born in us, we come to offer or consecrate, what we have been blessed with . When the time of their purification according to the Law of Moses had been completed, Joseph and Mary took him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord. Luke 2: 22

We are mesmerized by this word of faith and trust, as we move from purification, perhaps not fully understanding every single word presented, but fully understanding that God the Holy Spirit, is with us, to teach us and lead us into all truth.

Praise and thanks to You O God. Amen!

We need to, we must, continue this next week.
