Having seen the Power in the very sight of blood, as it was put on the three sides of the door, we know that the blood was visible to the LORD, the destroyer of His enemy and the enemy of His people. We know also that the children of God. who were truly unbearably oppressed by Pharaoh and his people, were crying out to God for deliverance from their oppressors. We know all of this to be a fact, for we hear God as He speaks to Moses.
The LORD said, I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey – the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. And now the cry of the Israelites has reached me, and I have seen the way the Egyptians are oppressing them. So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt. Exodus 3: 7 – 10.
In all that you have just read, do you see the care and concern, not just of God, but of a God who is a Father to His people and who is taking Fatherly care of them? As their Heavenly Father: -
He has seen His children’s misery – Father God has eyes to see.
He has heard the cries of His children - Father God has ears to hear.
He has felt concern for the suffering and distress of His children – Father God has a heart that cares.
He has left His high place to rescue His weak and helpless children – Father God has the mind to save.
He has articulated His desire, for His children – Father God has His will for His children for lavish living in Him.
I ask you, as you receive each of these living facts about Father God, don’t you see clear, purpose and promise of God for His children’s future? O yes you do and much more! You and I have been brought to the undeniable understanding and belief that even though God is Spirit - invisible, He presents Himself to His children, who are human, in human ways. Our God sees, our God hears, our God feels, our God responds and more.
So how is Father, Creator God, going to bring about all that He has promised that He will do for His children? Listen with thanks, to this portion of the set text. He will see the blood on the top and sides of the doorframe and will pass over that doorway, and he will not permit the destroyer to enter your houses and strike you down. Exodus 12: 23
There is promise in the blood on the doorframes. This promise is presented to us in four parts as given in our text. I shall like to bring this four-part promise of the blood to you, tomorrow.
