Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days and they will prophesy. Acts 2: 18

EXTRAVAGANCE

The third major telling is to the Extravagance. Just listen again to these words, “pour out”. My simple mind thinks of juice or tea even. You pour out juice from a jug or jar. Here are three strike-facts which cannot be dismissed, even if you wanted to deny or elude their undeniable truth.

Strike-Fact #1

Whatever is in that jug or jar is what is being poured out. In other words, the cup or glass that is receiving, regardless of its shape, size, colour and all these temporal things, is receiving exactly what is in that jug or jar. True! Perfectly true! I can hear your minds saying.

Strike-Fact #2

Whatever is in the jug, is poured out, not pushed out or pelted out. Take a look at what happens when you are pouring out a glass of water to drink. There is a deliberate pouring, not any half-hearted, hesitant placing of water into the glass. Likewise, there is not any aggressive throwing, dashing or pelting of water into the glass. Pouring out is a conscious, deliberate, thoughtful action. O yes! There is wisdom and much merit in understanding the integrity and intensity of the action of pouring out.

Strike-Fact #3

Whatever is poured out into the cup or glass makes the usefulness of the receiver the same as the giver. Here it is, Spring Water is in a litre or 2 litre bottle. You wish some water and your request is granted. Spring Water is poured out into your glass and you refreshingly, gladly and thankfully have your fill of water. What are you drinking? Someone comes along, sees you and asks you what you are drinking. Spring Water, you reply. Up comes another person, who takes up the bottle and begins to drink. What is this other person drinking? Spring water, you reply. O what a showing! What a telling!

On these three Strike-Fact points alone, I die! I die to all my feeble, senseless excuses and reasons why I am not filled perfectly and exactly with the Holy Spirit – All His Attributes – nothing lacking. Is this not sacred, yet heavenly extravagance? Whether the works of the Holy Spirit come from Him directly or through the vessel into whom He has poured out Himself, His works are the same. Now if that is not lavishly extravagant, I don’t know what is.

Will you be ready after this Spirit-reeling time, to face our fourth major telling, tomorrow? O yes, I’m sure you will be.
